Chapter Eleven

Anna

"she's good at pretending to feel nothing. she's good at hiding her scars from the world"

If I didn't know any better I'd say that Skye was looking forward to my date more than me. She had practically planned the entire thing out the second I told her that Silas had asked.

I was just worried about whether I was making a mistake or not.

I know Silas is a good guy. He's proven that more than once over the last few weeks I've known him. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that I still don't know much about his past.

He knows about Reed now and he's known about my mother since that weekend we all went out to his and Masons fight.

But I don't know anything about his family or why he had to go back to Toronto last weekend. What I do know is that he has a strained relationship with them to some extent. If the way he acted over the phone and when he got back was any indication then I know for sure something is going on there.

"Anna. Stop zoning out and let me finish your makeup." I hear the soft voice of Casey say as she waves a hand in front of my face.

Skye had invited her over to help me get ready and now the two feel as if they have to do everything for me.

I'm not completely helpless but I'm not one for dressing up or tons of makeup so, I guess it's not so bad.

"Sorry I was just thinking."

"You've been thinking all day. You have nothing to worry about, we wouldn't let you go on this date if we thought Silas was a bad person." Skye says from my bed.

Casey hands me my mascara and tells me to apply it quickly. "She's right you know."

I sigh. "I know, it's not that. I'm just worried about the family thing. He hasn't opened up much about that and that's what's bothering me."

"I'm sure he'll tell you when he's ready. Silas is probably worried he'd scare you away before you even gave him a chance." Skye tells me.

"Don't say that." Casey scolds her as she fluffs my hair a bit. "I doubt it's that bad but I'm sure he has his reasons for holding off until now. Just don't be to harsh about it if you decide to ask."

I roll my eyes as I put my mascara away. "I won't be."

Skye gets up and comes to look at me through the mirror. "I think your ready babe. Silas isn't going to know what to do once he sees you." She compliments.

I hug them both mumbling quick thank you's to them. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have these girls in my life. Even Casey who I've only recently became friends with is a huge part of my life now and fits right in with Skye and I.

"Anna." We hear my dad yelling from downstairs.

I quickly smooth out my dress as Skye hands me my purse with my phone lipgloss and wallet inside. "Good luck babe." She says.
