Chapter 9

*Layla's POV*
~a month later~
Today is the Dee day,Javier and I are finally getting married. I can't be more pleased.
I look at myself in the mirror, smiling sheepishly. I finally got everything I craved.
"hey Layla!" Zanny calls out as she enters the room. She is my bride maid and I don't know what I would have done without her.
"Zanny...I can't believe it!" I scream,stretching my arms out to hug her.
She hugs me. "Lee...it's time for you to go out!"
Oh god...I'm so nervous, what if I slip and fall? There are a lot of important persons out there,I don't want to embarrass myself.
"Ohhh..Zanny. Let's go!" I summon up courage,after all I will go with Tazanna.
"Lee,you are going by your self...I'm sure you have watched enough wedding movies to know that!" She chuckles.
"Are you making fun of me?" I ask,turning my face away. My legs are like jelly,can I even stand up?
I never imagined today would be like this... There is a massive turnout of crowd,even those who weren't invited.
"I'm not...it's just funny. Come on.. Get up!" She says,dragging me up with a smile.
I smile back,stood up..look into the mirror,arrange my gown, look into the mirror again and smile.
"How do I look,Zanny?" I ask her.
She sighs. "Perfect! Now go."
I walk slowly out the room, plastering a wide smile on my face. Today is a good day and I plan on enjoying it.

* Wedding Night*
"Oh,I'm so tired" I tell Zanny and my friends as they drag me around to dance more.
"No,you have to dance! It's your day..afterall" Yarina complains.
"But I'm so tired" I say breathlessly.
"Oh, you better dance now,you may not be able to...after tonight" Elora interludes.
I look at her. "Of course not...why would I stop dancing!"
"Because you're married,duh!!!" Elora rolls her eyes.
"Is there a rule that married women shouldn't dance?" I ask her,hands akimbo.
"well,you will have to see for your self" she concludes.
I giggles. Elora is married and she has been trying to scarce me about it since I told her I'm getting married...but I know she's just worried about me.
"Calm down,girl. Let her enjoy her day!" Dawn says, hitting Elora lightly on her shoulder.
We are in the grand Sheraz mansion for the afterparty. Sincerely I am so tired, the Nikaah and the reception waa so much fun. I keep smiling so as not to disapoint my friends but all i want to do is rest. We are out on the patio to have fun.
We dance more to the music..and I see Javier standing by the door.
"Sorry for interrupting your fun...but can I borrow my wife for some minutes" he says smiling widely.
I blush. I can't still believe I'm his wife already.
"Awwnn...so romantic. Take her,she's yours after all!" Winter,my childhood friend chip in.
we all laugh and I walk up to him slowly. He took my hand and we walk to a very big and nice bedroom. "How come you always look this beautiful!" He say touching my cheek.
I blush more...I can't believe I'm shy of him. I used to be so free around him. "Thanks" I say looking down.
He gestures round the room," this is my room here..I suppose you will be tired when the party is over...so we will leave tomorrow. When you are done..just come here,okay?"
I nod. "What do you want to do now?" I ask,feeling guilty that I am spending time with my friends instead of him. But it's just 9:00pm and I want to have more fun.
"I just want to take a shower and rest" he replies curtly.
"Okay..I will be back soon" I say and walk out of the room.
I don't know what he expects from me but I don't want to disappoint him. I will have to make my friends leave sooner.
Javier and his family didn't really want a large wedding. To them,it's just an occasion for joining the groom and bride together, that's all.
I'm so sad because my Mom had to leave me here, I'm just having fun with my friends so I don't cry. I don't want to be alone here with people I am unfamiliar with,except Javier of course.
I walk back to the patio in a hurry. I sigh when I saw them taking wine.
"You girls couldn't wait for me?" I say as I sit down beside them.
"We thought you aren't coming back!" Yarina says as she stands up.
"Haaba I can't leave you girls alone now!" I reply,pouring a drink for myself.
"But you need to go be with your husband!" Elora comments.
"Yes..Girls I think we should leave" Zanny adds.
I sigh sadly. "Okay...but let's meet up someday and continue the party."
Winter nods. "I pray you have time for us."
"Of course I will!"
I escort them to Dawn's car which was the ride they brought. I wave until they left the premises. Then I walk quietly back inside feeling lonely all of a sudden.
Everywhere is quiet,I guess everyone went to bed already. This is no fun.. They should at least have fun together,it's Javier's wedding night after all.
I can imagine how it would be if it was my family..we might not even sleep tonight.
I breathe in deeply and open the door to Javier's room. I turn on the lights and see Javier sprawled on the bed,already asleep.
I remove my wedding dress quietly, enter the bathroom to takea hot shower and slip into bed beside him.
I fall asleep almost immediately.
