         *Javier's POV*

I signed the documents and handed them to Victor. I was so glad everything went well, the contract was signed and both parties were going back home with smiles on their faces.

I rub my head stressed out,I couldn't wait to get home and rest my weary head, I prepared so much for this day,but I'm glad the sleepless nights finally paid off.
I walked out of the conference room with Victor and Mr Raymond, a business associate of mine.
We shook hands and parted ways.
Victor and I got into the elevator and descended.

"So what do you think of Layla?" Victor asked

Layla? Oh, his old friend.

"She is nice! Why do you ask? I turned to look at him.

" nothing just wanted to know. Layla is a very good person, she has it all. She is intelligent, beautiful, bold and nice. When we were in school, every guy wanted to date her. But she insisted that she is only going to date or marry someone who is strong in the deen. I'm surprised she's not married yet, a gem like her is hard to find."

I nodded, still wondering why he was telling me all this. I barely knew the woman, I had just met her for like five minutes and Victor was telling me her life history. Sometimes,he behaved funny but I couldn't do with him.

The elevator dinged and we stepped out. I walked to the car in a hurry to go home ,with Victor right behind me.

I bumped into someone and she fell. Oh God!
I bent to help her up and I noticed it was the lady from the Elevator, Victor's friend, Layla.

"I'm so sorry" I quickly apologized.

She smiled and took my hand. She stood up and dusted her dress.

"No problem. I'm the clumsy one"

I chuckled, "No...I don't think so. I'm the one walking like I'm being chased."

She laughed, "So how was the conference?"

I nodded amidst pouted my lips, "It was as expected, Perfect "

I didn't know why I was nervous around her.I turned back but Victor was nowhere to be found.

"That's expected of businessmen like you, you hit deals."

I laughed out loud. "It favours us at times but we lose deals too."

She nodded, "Where is Victor?"

"I.. I don't know, we came out together but I think he left. After all we are done for the day." I stressed.

"Okay, I'm on my way out too" she said and we walked out the building together in silence.

"So how was your meeting?", I asked to break the silence.

"it went well...the client's offer is good but you know I have to report to the Company first", she sighed.

"Can't you just go ahead with it, since it's good?" I asked thinking about the unnecessary waste of time.

"No! you know, as an employee, I have to make sure the bosses like the offer. I don't really like it because I prefer making decisions myself."

I smiled, "Then why didn't you choose a profession that allows that?"

"Well...you know how the country works, Where people work to make money. I would sincerely love to follow my dreams."

"And what is this dream if I may ask?."

She smiled, revealing her nice white teeth, "Of course,  I love writing.I have always wanted to become a writer. I do write but not the way I envisioned. I want to write novels, scripts, songs and other motivational articles and have people eager to read them but..." She pauses.

"What?"

"I just feel like my works are rutting away. I have a lot of articles but haven't published them yet."

"Why are you holding back?" I asked, wanting to know more.

"I don't know, I'm just not encouraged to go ahead and I'm scared I can't make it"

I stared at her, she looked so strong and independent. I couldn't believe she was scared of following her dreams.

"You shouldn't have that in mind. There is nothing you can't do if you put your heart into it. Ever since I was a boy, I have dreamt of stepping into my father's shoes, running the company's business. I won't say I wasn't scared, yes I was scared, what if I wasn't as good as he is? but I never stopped trying. And I'm glad I didn't." I explained to her.

Wait what? why did I tell her all that? she's just a lady I met and now I've told  her things I've never told anyone before.

She smiles widely. She was so pretty.

"Wow! I'm impressed. Thanks for telling me all this, I'm privileged. I'm going to do just that, keep pushing."

I smiled back at her,and notice we are already at the parking area.
She points at a Red Toyota Camry.

"That's my car..it's so nice to meet you....Mr Javier Sheraz."

"Same here, um...uh..." I had forgotten her name.

"Layla", she sounded with a giggle

"Yes, Layla", I said with a smile.

"See you around.l" She said wave at me,going to her car.

I nodded before walking to my car too. It was really a wonderful meeting.
