Riley's POV

I wake up to the smell of bacon. As I open my eyes, everything comes flooding back to me. From arriving in Chicago, to Patrick picking me up, from my breakdown in the car, and seeing both Abby and Maddy for the first time in 2 years. My stomach starts to growl, so I decide to wonder downstairs in search of some food.

As I made my way into the kitchen, Patrick was sitting at the breakfast bar, reading the newspaper in one hand, with a cup of coffee in the other. As for Abby, she was making what seem to look like chocolate chip pancakes. Yum, I think to myself.

"Good morning, sweetheart!" Abby says while greet me.

"Morning Aunt Abby! Morning Uncle Patrick!" I say as I greet them.

"Honey, I thought I told you to call me Abby."Abby tells me.

"Sorry Au- I mean Abby. Sorry, force of habit I guess." I say slightly chuckling.

You see, my Aunt always had this thing and for some reason being called 'aunt' made her feel old. Patrick was the same way but he just didn't like the way 'Uncle Patrick' sounded. So as you can see he hates it when I call him in that, but of course me being me I just love to push his buttons. Which he hates, but brings joy to me.

"Why do you listen to her and call her by her first name but when I ask, you call me 'uncle.' Patrick complains while making a disgusted face at the word uncle.

"It's simple, I like her better." I say as I grab the plate of food from Abby and sit down next to Patrick.

"Meanie!" he tells me, while sticking his tongue out at me and stealing a piece of bacon from my plate.

"Hey!" I yell at him.

"That's what you get when your mean to good old Uncle Patrick." he tells me hitting my back.

"Whatever." I say fake pointing.

"Oh honey, you better hurry up, or else your going to be late." Abby says, while cleaning up the kitchen.

"Oh your right, I better get going." Patrick says, while standing up and walking over and putting his mug and plate in the sink.

"Where you going?" I ask.

"Practice. You know a job, something you don't have at the moment." he tells me, while cracking up at his own joke.

"Yeah, yeah! Whatever!" I say, and stick my tongue out at him. "But who can I pick on now?" I ask.

"I don't know, kiddo. I guess your going to have find something to entertain yourself, while I'm not around." he tells me while patting my head and making his way over to Abby.

"I have to drop Maddy off at preschool at 9, so if you want I was thinking after that we could do some shopping and maybe stop for lunch and just have a girls day! What do you say?" Abby asks me with a smile.

"Sure, I'd like that!" I say smiling back.

"Bye babe!" Patrick tells Abby while giving her kiss. "Oh and I'll see you guys tonight then right?"

"Yup! we'll be there!" Abby tells him.

"What's tonight?" I ask.

"I have a game tonight! You know that thing called a job, som-"

"Yes, something I don't have. I get it," I say, finishing up what he was saying.

"You know I just love messing with you!" he tells me with a smile.

"Yes I I know, but not as much as I love messing with you!" I say with a cheeky grin.

"I would love to stay and chat but I gotta go, I'll see you guys later."
Patrick says, while running out the door.
