Chapter 22

Jennie's P.O.V

Manila, Philippines 

3:00 PM 

        This whole surprise trip meant for Leo really did backfire on me. It's still my first day here, and man this was already a roller coaster ride. My mind is still processing what he just told me, about the death of one of his most important person of his life. I'm not even jealous, instead I admire him. I can't imagine losing someone. I'm probably not gonna recover but Leo managed to pull himself together despite of the excruciating pain. I look at him; his back facing our direction, a small smile spread on my lips. 

"He's really one heck of a guy huh?", the voice asked, snapping me out of my trance and turned my attention to the girl, which I now know as Alesia. I chuckled, "That's an understatement." 

She grinned mischievously; our eyes locking, "Oh I know what you mean, we used to messed around a lot and so naturally we got a whole lot of trouble and Kyla was there to be our arbiter." she said, her tone of voice clearly expresses nostalgia and her dark brown orbs showing many emotions. "What kind of person is Kyla?" I asked softly. I'm curious what kind of person stole his heart. Her grin dissolves into a soft smile, "She was beautiful that's for sure, inside and out. Leo had a hard time getting her to say yes to be his girlfriend. She was calm and collected but at the same time, rash and hot tempered." she chuckles, "She was the perfect example of hot and cold, we had a hard time coping up with her mood swings, Leo was nearly driven crazy but still managed to stay sane and calm her down. Honestly, Leo is the only one that can calm her down. They were really in love, Leo even planned in staying here for good because he can't stay away from her." she added, her eyes glistening with unshed tears and her lips quivering slightly. 

My eyebrows furrow, "What happened to her?"I asked as softly as I can. She gave me a sad look and then shakes her head, "Considering Leo brought you here means that he means a lot to you and has already opened a piece of his broken heart to you. He'll be the one to tell you, trust me it's sooner than you think." she smiled.

"Hey girls!" a loud deep voice intercepted. We turned to the owner of the voice which revealed a clove color hair guy, with bulky body and at least 6'0 tall. "What is it Ace?" Alesia asked, her voice cracking a little. 

Ace frowned, his eyebrows knit together. "Uhm, I was gonna ask Jennie if she wanted to come with us." he said but I could tell he wanted to ask another thing as well but chose to shut his mouth.

"Uhm, sure. If it's fine with you guys?" I reply, a little unsure.

 "Nonsense, we would really like you to come with us. You are here for Leo in the first place anyway so that makes you his visitor and we would be stupid enough not to tend to the visitor of our son, especially if she's this beautiful." Cristina added with a big smile on her face, as she walked closer towards us, her husband trailing behind her.

I blushed. I mean I'm not the type of person to blush easily just by compliments and since I get that a lot. But considering they called Leo as their "son" and  we have some sort of relationship, it feels like I'm meeting another set of his parents; his second family as Lisa calls them. I've met Leo and Lisa's parents before of course and they're both really sweet but I didn't know Leo that time, our schedules didn't match in order for us to meet and Lisa was adamant to  show us a picture of him and I don't know why. Leo really did get lucky of the people surrounding his life. 

"Okay, thank you Cristina." I gave her a small smile and a nod. 

"And could you get Leo for me? I think he's done by now." 

"Sure."

I comply and walk towards his figure; his back facing towards me. I bend my knees to a squat and touched his back, I could still hear his muffled sobbing, my stomach started to churn and my heart felt like it was pierced by a thousand needles, "Hey, you okay?" I asked softly.
