Ugh, I don't have time for this, I thought.
"Get lost. What I do with Adiata is my problem, not yours." I retorted coldly at the four of them.
Without warning, the leader swung his arm at my face, fists clenched. I reacted with a speed faster than his and caught his fist before it could hit me.
"I'm serious. I don't want to hurt any of you here. After all, you only have three days left before you head back to Singapore." I said while flinging the hand that I caught aside.
"Why you-" The leader exclaimed and swerved his body around, one leg in the air, performing a roundhouse kick to my chest.
I dodged and caught his leg.
"I warned you."
Without a second thought, I grabbed his leg with both hands, trapping him in the position he was in. Twisting my arms, I flipped him over, sending him crashing onto the ground face-first.
I didn't even use my full strength, and he was already down there with a nosebleed, groaning and moaning.
Dusting my hands, I smirked.
"Just so you know, I've got a black belt in Taekwondo."
"If you'll excuse me, I'll be going now."
The other three boys stared at their leader in shock, their jaws hanging and minds unable to accept the fact that he was taken down in one swift move of mine.
I ran past the three of them while they were still in their state of disbelief, and headed down the stairs as fast as I could. I was already late by ten minutes.
I reached the meeting point fifteen minutes late.
"Austelle!" I called out, relieved to see that she was still there, waiting for me.
She was leaning against the back wall, her hands in her jeans pockets and haversack on the grass beside her.
She was looking up at the clear blue sky, and in her eyes I could see sorrow and grief.
"You're finally here." Those eyes turned to look at me, and my breath hitched.
I never noticed that they looked this sad before.
"Yes, I'm sorry I'm late. I had to deal with Adiata. You understand right?"
"Oh." She replied flatly, and looked down.
There was the usual awkward silence for a few moments.
Just as I was about to say something, Austelle spoke.
"I have a confession to make, Park Jimin." She said while pushing herself off the wall and stood straight to face me.
Another stretch of silence followed, and a light breeze blew.
I can never forget that image of her in my mind, her wavy brown hair fluttering in the soft breeze, her hands still in her pockets and those clear jelly-like brown eyes.
Those eyes, lost the spark in them, compared to the first time I met her.
It was only for a moment, that she seemed lost in herself, a dream of despair.
Before I could react, that image of her was gone, it disappeared as quickly as it came.
I steadied my heart and asked,
"Well, what is it?"
