Error's POV:

I look around the room to see everyone here. Dream, Nightmare, and Dust were by the TV. Ink and Cross. Killer, Horror, and Blue were by the window. Classic as normal was by the couch. I was alone on the steps.

"I...Hello?" Classic questions.

"Hello." Nightmare greeted.

"Hi!" Cross chirped, making me smirk for a second.

"Um... who are you guys? I know Error, Ink, Dream, and Blue but the rest, I sadly don't know." Classic asked.

"I'm Nightmare, your other creativity, and this dork's brother." Nightmare hummed as his tentacles gestured to Dream.

"I'm Dust. Your fantasy side." Dust waved.

"I'm Killer, Your side of deceit." Killer replied.

"I'm Horror. Your paranoid side. I'm mostly used for your conspiracy theories." Horror shrugged.

"I'm Cross! I'm your sleeping side!" Cross smiled.

"Okay... Well Hi?" Classic greeted.

"So why did you bring us here?" I asked. I showed no reaction to everyone looking at me.

"Right! Red invited me to his house on Saturday but I'm not sure if I should go." Classic addressed.

"You should! He's your friend!" Blue chirped.

"Hopefully a bit more~." Dream teased, causing Classic's cheeks to go blue.

"But we planned on working on Saturday." Ink reminded.

"But Ink! If Red is inviting us then that means his brother isn't home! You know how rare that is!" Dream countered. I rolled my eyes and got up.

"Woah Woah Woah. Where did the 'us' come from here? Red invited Classic, not us." Nightmare asked his twin. I started stood on the bottom step and prepared to sink down.

"Error? Where are you going?" Horror asked as all the attention was brought back to me.

"Look, I've been in their game for way too long. It's always an argument between them before I chime in. Then all the hate is directed to me. Yeah no. You guys can play this game without me." I huffed as I returned to the mindscape, ignoring their surprised looks.

I ended up in the control room like normal. I glanced at the screen to see everyone's shocked faced. I sighed as I started to walk to my room, keeping my guard up. Just because nobody around doesn't mean I am trusting this place.

"Error, wait!" I heard a voice call out from behind me. I stopped and turned around to see Cross running to me.

"Yes?" I hummed as he caught up.

"What did you mean by 'in their game'?" Cross asked. I sighed, letting my walls down a bit.

"I'll tell you in my room," I said and resumed walking to my room. I glanced back to see Cross following me.

We walked to and down the left side of the hall. At the very end of the hall, I opened my door. I led Cross through and into my room. I closed the door behind us as he looked around. I led him to the beanbags next to my knitting supplies.

"Your room is... Small." Cross commented. I simply shrugged as we sat down on the beanbags.

"Eh, I'm not that picky," I replied, facing the monochrome skeleton.

"So... what did you mean by 'In their game'?" Cross reminded the glitching skeleton.

"Hhhh It's always the same with them during videos. Two of them argue back and forwards, The third one of them sides with somebody, causing the lone counter fights the duo. I say something, sometimes I don't even need to before all the hatred is put to me." Error rambled a bit.

"That doesn't seem very productive. Doesn't Classic intervene?" Cross wondered.

"He normally just sets what's going on before letting everyone else talk about it, answering and commenting now and then," I explained.

"...May I ask why your walls are so high up? Even Nightmare or Horror didn't have their guard up when we first met." Cross asked me. I blink in surprise before sighing.

"Let's just say that there is a girl side here. And she is not kind by any means." I said. "She's the side that fits the side she is of."

"Really? Who is she? What is she the side of?" Cross interrogated me.

"Her name is Fate. She is the side of corruption. She can travel throughout mindscape's, looking for, as she put it, 'Pawns'." I hummed as I remembered the start of my existence as Classic's anxiety.

"Are you sure she isn't just like us? Misunderstood?" Cross questioned. I nodded.

"I'm sure. I tried talking to her and asking why when..." I trailed off.

"When...?" Cross pondered as he put a hand on my arm.

"W-When she...tortured...me..." I whispered, feeling my guard shakily rise and fall. Even Blue never knew what Fate did to me.

"W-what...?" Cross muttered in shock. I slowly nodded.

"Look, Cross. She said she favored me about all else. I'm lucky Blue was able to save me, hence why I've been here. But even Blue doesn't know everything I've gone through. He just found me after I managed to escape her castle. So if something happens to me or someone else and I'm somehow unable to help, I want you to do something. There is a map under the puppets that will show her castle. Mention it only if someone's in danger, please. She is not afraid to shatter someone." I explained sternly to Cross.

"O-Of course. Yes. But... did she shatter you?" Cross asked worriedly.

"No... She almost did. I managed to prevent myself from being completely shattered due to the walls I put up. I... Don't know what will happen to Classic if I do become shattered. That's the only reason I'm putting any care about myself." I sighed.

"If you won't care for yourself then we will," Cross said determined, hugging the glitching skeleton.

"I...Thank you." Error whispered as he hugged back. They stayed like that until they heard Horror calling out for Cross.

"You should go back before they worry." Error suggested. Cross nodded and left, not before saying goodbye first though.

~A week later~

AN: And that's it! If you don't understand what Error was talking about via Fate, let me explain more clearly. Fate is a side of corruption. She is able to travel throughout minds, unaffecting hosts. She can not be summoned due to not having a direct host. What she can do is, however, shatter sides.

When a side becomes shattered, it is much like someone being broken or depressed. They have given up all hope. This causes the hosts to go insane. Not that the side's know of what would happen, mind you. Most sides aren't sure how to stop the final breaking point, leading to shattering. Error, on the other hand, trusted nobody. He raised his guard/walls to where not many can reach and lower them.

Now back to Error's past. When he first became a side, he was found by Fate. She took him in and tortured him daily, nearly shattering him. He managed to escape Fate's castle right before being shattered, however. He ran as far as he could until he collapsed. Blue found Error while he was passed out and brought him to the mind palace. When Error woke up, he only knew of Fate. So seeing three strangers and unknowing of what they would due to him scared him. He built his walls to preserve the last bit of him that he had. Blue never knew of the torture. It stayed between Fate and Error for years, until now.

Right as Error escaped, he heard Fate find out and promise that she'd be back. That's why he asked Cross of what he did. But those years alone with his tormentor will soon be revealed on how much it truly has affected him. It goes deeper than Error not caring for himself though.
