Chapter Twenty-Five: Safe?

Error's POV:

I opened my eyes to see white and gold. I let out a groan as I snuggled closer into it.

"Hey... how are you feeling?" I heard Dream say.

"Mmmmmmm" I groaned as pain was sent throughout my stomach. I curl up.

"Sh.... It's okay...." Dream whispered as I felt something rub my back.

I close my eyes, hoping that it'd get rid of the pain, to feel someone move me. I open them to see Dream has put me into his lap. I lean into his chest right as another wave of pain hits. I let out a small whimper as I curled up again.

"Come in." Dream said after someone knocked on the door. I look up to see a girl coming in the room.

"Hey Big bro. Hey Error." She greeted. Brother? What's a brother?

"Hey Bal. Error, this is mine and Nights younger sister, Balance." Dream introduced me. I turned to her fully.

"Hi... um... I have a question..." I said as she sat in the chair beside the bed.

"Sure. What is it?" She smiled softly as Dream rubbed my skull.

"Um... W-what's a brother...? or sister...?" I asked, causing all movement to still. Her eye sockets widen as she stares. I look up to see Dream has the same expression. I hide my face in my jacket.

"N-nevermind..." I stuttered, not wanting me to accidentally provoke them for asking a question.

"N-No sorry it's just not everyday you see someone, side or not, unknowing of what siblings are." Balance explained. She let out a sigh as Dream rubbed my skull again.

"A Sister and brother are people who are genetically made from the same parents, parent for half siblings. A sister is the female sibling, and a brother is the male sibling." Balance explained as I subconsciously leaned into Dream's touch. I nodded as I semi understood.

"Does That make sense?" Dream questioned. I looked up to him.

"Kinda? I think I get it... Fate said she had a sister and parents before." I hummed.

"Fate? As in orange and yellow everything Fate? The Fate that is human with wings?" Balance integrated. I looked down to see her shocked expression. I tilted my head confused.

"Yeah...?" I wondered. 

"I knew that name sounded familiar when Nighty explained his side." She muttered to herself.

"Bal? What's going on?" Dream pondered, worried.

"Fate... She's a side of corruption Dreamy. She can travel throughout minds and shatter sides..." Bal sighed as she explained. I curled up as I heard Dream gasp.

"S-she said before that I-I was the only one who l-lasted this long... I-I only survived shattering b-by putting walls up..." I whispered, remembering what she did. Bal put a hand on my leg as I looked at her.

"You Don't have to talk about it if you don't want to..." She assured me. I shook my head.

"S-She said she'd get me back... She never broke a promise... I-I learned that very early on..." I contuined. Balance frowned.

"Do you know where she lives?" Dream asked. I nodded.

"T-Theres a map under the p-puppets in my room. I-I've already told Cross... i-in case something happened to me o-or in case something happened to someone else and I-I was u-unable to help..." I explained. Dream rubbed my head.

"Nothing Will happen to anyone. You're safe now Erry." Dream stated as Balance left the room. I turned around to look at him. I tilted my head confused.

"Safe?"

"Nobody Will hurt you as long as I have something to say."
