The Chemical Factory (The Ooze fan fic)

Chapter 5

Dr. Caine climbed out of the toilet after he ate some of the employees and the mutated creatures in the other room. He spotted the girl standing behind the doorway but the look of her face, she looks very sick and there's a small droplet of blood drooling down to her lips. Her skin is turning pale, there's bags under the eyes from the sickness, and he can hear her coughing aggressively . The side effects from the toxic gas is making her worst, he can see that the symptoms is giving her a headache, the coughing made her throat dry like sandpaper, and the dizziness is making her faint.

Dr. Caine started moving forward to her, he is trying to her but this made Chloe scared. She saw it clearly through her eyes so she had the advantage to take a step back away from it.

Chloe: "S-Stay back..! I'm warning you!" Chloe said as she tried to find a weapon to attack it in self defense. There's no item around this area but as she wasn't paying attention, her leg fell in the hole causing her to be stuck. She tried pulling her leg out but something snagged onto her boot, as she use her strength to pull it out, The Ooze is still moving towards which made Chloe panic quickly. Chloe grabbed her leg with both hands as she tried tugging it out of the hole, the Ooze is coming close to her, the green ooze is dripping out of its jaw while moving up to her. Chloe finally got her leg out of the hole but a sharp metal pole in it left a big cut on it.
Chloe: "Ah!" She scream in pain to see the cut on her leg bleeding. She wasted no time on looking at her leg and focus on escaping, she quickly ran out of the room and exit the Genetic Lab. Dr. Caine notice that she's heading to the Power Core, a electrical room where it powers the plant and there are security robots are guarding and monitoring that place. He's worried that they're gonna eliminate her but the virus he created is making her worst and weak, and she's loosing a little bit of blood on her leg. He remembered that the bag he grabbed from her is still inside his oozy body, he pulled it out and dig through it to see some items as self defense but it was hand-made and kinda high tech.

Dr. Caine: 'Did she..made these?' He was really amazed on how she build it very well advanced, there was a taser, tranquilizer gun, night vision goggles, and some kind of pen but it shoots laser like in a spy movie. Upon digging into her bag, he found her college ID card inside and there's her first and last name in bold, Chloe Starr, that's a nice name. He then put the bag back inside his oozy body and crawl in the toilet to the next room, the Power Core.

Chloe shut the door as she made it inside the Power Core. She catch her breath from running about 7 minutes and lift her head up to look around this area, the Power Core is like a huge maze, there's so many electrical equipments, machineries, and generators as walls.

Chloe: "So this is the Power Core? It...so big. Must have cost a lot to pay the electrical bill." Chloe said and starts walking. While she is walking around, she quickly stopped when she saw a electrical barrier blocking her path, she didn't see that coming. It looks like the electricity has 120 volts and it's impossible to shut it down because there's no off switch. Suddenly the electrical barrier is turned off by itself made Chloe surprise.
Chloe: "Who turned it off?" Chloe questioned but she shrugged it off. She walk pass it and continues to find an exit.

Dr. Caine saw the whole thing after he climbed out of the hole. He spotted her trying to find the exit but was blocked by the electrical barrier. If she touches it, she will die from shock. He then found a switch to turn it off, when he did the electrical force shuts off so she can pass through. He was still worried about her health, the fumes is still killing her and she has 10 hours left before she dies. The antidote is hidden away inside Dr. Caine's lab from his evil boss, it's sealed in a locked safe that is hiding behind a picture frame on the wall. He also remembers the password to open the safe as well, the Director won't know because the password is medium long. As Dr. Caine is still observing Chloe across the Power Core, a group of blue translucent gorilla like creatures appear in front of her.
Chloe was frighten when those translucent mutated creatures encountered her out of no where.

Chloe: "What the hell are those things..?!" Chloe said as one of them stepped close to her and inhale in her scent. She felt uncomfortable when it's sniffing her which made Dr. Caine pretty upset to see this. Two more move close to smell her scent but they reacted in a screech of anger. This made Chloe's eye widen in shock to see their reaction. She quietly step back slowly not to make them more angrier, but this made it worst. They started charging up to her when Chloe close her eyes for the impact.
Dr. Caine couldn't watch this so he stepped in out of no where and devour those mutants. Chloe open her eyes to see the toxic waste monster eating the mutants in front of her, she was shocked that it protected her from being attacked.

Chloe: 'Where did it come from?' She thought to herself. She can see the mutants being digested through the green ooze body. Looking at it kinda made Chloe sick a little after she witness it. She then quietly move away from him without making a noise, her plan succeeded but ended up getting lost in a maze like room. After Dr. Caine finished consuming the translucent mutants, he turned around but she was gone. He was kinda getting annoyed from her running away, it's because of his horrifying look the Corporation did to him. He started shouting her name out loud but it attracted these small yellow mutants sponges appearing in the path and starts crawling at him. Chloe heard the Ooze calling her name loudly through the other path of the maze.

Chloe: 'How does it know my name?!' She thought to herself. She climbed up the stairs so she would be on high ground. She ran quick but the metal platforms made some stomping noising from her, in which some of the mad scientists turn to their attention.
Mad Scientist 1: "What was that?!"
Mad Scientist 2: "Maybe it's Caine! He's here!"
Both of the mad scientists in a robotic suit follow the sound of metal. They hear it coming close but when they look up it wasn't Dr. Caine, it was a girl running above the metal bridge like platforms.
Mad Scientist 1: "That's not Caine! Who is she?!"
Mad Scientist 2: "Doesn't matter! She's trespassing here and we can't let the boss know! He'll kill us!"
Mad Scientist 1: "You're right, hey! stop!!"
Mad Scientist 2: "Get her!"
They chase after her. Chloe can hear them coming close under the platforms but continues to run fast. One of them use his laser gun to cut the end of the platform off, when it fell, Chloe fell but she grabbed hold on the broken metal handle dangling at the edge next to the door. Chloe hold on tight but one of the scientists tried to reach for her leg.
Mad Scientist 1: "Get down here girl, we just want a talk!" He said.
Chloe tried climbing back up on the metal rail while her legs kick in the air so the walls next to her help her climb. One scientist managed to grab her injured leg, she screech from the large cut on her leg. She kicked him in the face with her good leg, the employee fell landing on his butt to the ground. His nose starts bleeding from the kick which made him angry.
Mad Scientist 1: "You b*tch! You'll pay for that!" He screeched in anger as he starts climbing on the broken platforms. Chloe grab the edge with both of her hands and pull herself up there. She almost there but the employee grabbed her ankle.
Chloe: "Let go!"
Mad Scientist 1: "You're not going anywhere intruder!"
Chloe: "Help!!"
The call for help got Dr. Caine's attention, he saw them trying to pull her down. His expression turned into anger and his oozy body is starting to bubble like a kettle heating up water on a hot stove.
Chloe: "Help!" She shouted.
While the employees are busy trying to pull her down, the Ooze grabbed them from behind and starts devouring them one by one. One scientist tried to shoot him but his laser gun was taken away by Dr. Caine and melt the whole gun. The scientist tried crawling away but it was being dragged back to him while consuming the other scientist. Chloe made it up to the edge as she watch him eating the scientists.
Chloe: "Oh my god..." She said watching the ooze monster consuming the second scientists and melting the whole body inside the toxic ooze. Dr. Caine turned his head to Chloe, his red eyes made contact with her green eyes in some kind of staring contest.

Dr. Caine: "Chloe.." He said in a kinda creepy and deep voice. His voice made Chloe cringe in fear. Dr. Caine tried reaching for her once more but she ran quick away from him.
Dr. Caine: "Chloe..!!" He shouted her name and follows her by going through the floor drainage. He can hear her footsteps above him while he's underneath the drainage. He took a peek to see that she went inside the security room to hide in there. He remembers that there are many security cameras around the plant, in and out. With each tape, he can take it to the police station as proof that the Director is planning to poison the water supplies from the toxic chemicals and make billions of dollars for the antidote. It's full proof but he's need Chloe to grab the tape for him.

Dr. Caine: "I need to reason with Chloe first without freaking out." He said to himself as he finds a path to the security room.
