Derek had taken Stiles from the kitchen table to the living room sitting onto the sofa, he pulled Stiles into his lap and held the smaller male "I almost list my mum" Derek started, "the pack was being attacked and my mum told me to stay inside" he rubbed his hand over Stiles arm leaning back on the couch as Stiles glanced up at him "I didn't listen, if I did mum would be dead and...." Derek closed his eyes, his mum may annoy him at times but she was still his mum and his Alpha he didn't want to think about the pain it would have caused to loose her

"You don't have to tell me Derek" Stiles whispered, wrapping his arms around the older males waist

"I want to" Derek said before taking a deep breath "I snuck out and followed when I was about 17 dispite Laura's protest, I saw the fight and I saw the Alpha creeping up on my mum as she was fighting two of their Beta's, so I attacked, he attacked back got some good hits in both of us and he he came in to attack one final time I ripped his throat out" the Beta's all froze so did my mum, at first she thought it was me until I pushed the wolf off me and got up, her look turned from worried to ashamed, I think it was ashamed, I couldn't tell" Derek let his head back blinking away any tears "the Beta's retreated without their Alpha except the twins that stayed with mum, and she wouldn't speak to me it was like she couldn't even stand looking at me. I saved her life yet all I got was ignored, I was ready to leave when she told me she wasn't angry at me but concerned that she was scared of what was to come and didn't know how to react"

Stiles wiped a tear that managed to escape Derek's eyes "you saved her Derek something I could never have done for my mum, I don't know how to fight, I hardly know how to be a werewolf"

"You're a strong werewolf Stiles, a good Alpha, my pack deserve better then me but you your pack are strong despite their differences they are protective of you" Derek let out a sigh, he shifted so him and Stiles where lay side by side and wrapped his arms around the younger Alpha "you're a good guy Sti, and a great Alpha"

"So are you" Stiles added "you do things to protect others even if it puts you at risk my pack don't trust me"

"They will" Derek whispers as they fall into a comforting silence holding each other

They where sleeping when they where jolted awake by the sound of a camera shutter, they both glared over at Lydia who was holding her phone up with a proud smile on her face, they looked around to see both of their packs here, and Derek's mum "oh" Stiles said and looked around "what time is it?"

Derek rubbed his eyes sitting up as Stiles stumbled to his feet "A little after 1" Danny answers and Scott is stood there arms folded and glaring at the two Alpha's

Derek looked at his mother who was staring quietly at the both of them "she was here when we got here" Isaac added and sat next to Stiles, the sleep didn't get rid of the puffy eyes letting Isaac know he'd been crying "are you alright Stiles?" Stiles nods and rubs his eyes "where you crying"

Stiles looks at Isaac then Derek "I'm fine now, just got upset about something" he turned his gaze back to Isaac with a warm smile "he's like a big soft teddy bear" Stiles chuckled

"I am not" Derek protests, Stiles sticks his tongue out at Derek "I'm not a teddy bear" he pokes Stiles in the side making the boy squeak in surprise, a mischievous grin crossed his face "Stiles Stilinski are you ticklish"

Stiles shook his head and quickly got up "no nope, who wants a drink, Mrs. Hale would you like anything to drink?"

"Yes please" she spoke for the first time, she followed the packs inside but hadn't spoken to either of them, Stiles walked to the kitchen and Derek looked back to his mum "Derek, we need to talk"

"I'm not talking to you about Stiles until you tell me who and why you are looking for that woman" Derek stood up "until you tell me, don't tell me who I can and can't trust, who I can and can't be friends with, you're my mum, my Alpha but you hide things from me and expect me to just go along with it, I have my pack to look out for aswell now so please if you can't accept help don't expect me to ask for it"

Talia opened and closed her mouth as Derek walked off to the kitchen, the Beta's remained quiet as they spoke and Danny and Scott scrambled to put the TV on once Derek walked out "Derek" Talia calls following her son into the kitchen "I'll tell you but I have to tell you alone and you can't tell anyone else"

Derek looks at Stiles then at Talia "Stiles has to come"

Talia frowned "just the two of us"

Derek shook his head "I need Stiles to come, you involved his dad, his only family member and so he needs to know what you are putting his father into, he also needs to know why you are so determined that we are not allowed to be close friends" Talia frowned looking at Stiles "he's a kid, it's not like he can do much damage he's not even 18"

Talia sighed and nodded "fine 2 days I'm going back, meet me at the old house a few days before just the 2 of you, a meeting between Alpha's I'll make sure my Beta's are not around"

Derek nodded and Stiles placed a cup of tea in front of Talia "I figured you would like tea better then coffee, I know Derek does but I make him coffee because usually he looks tired"

Talia looked at the boy curiously as she took the cup "thank you"

Stiles smiled and looked at Derek "do you want a cup?" Derek nodded and Stiles went to pour Derek a cup of tea and himself coffee

"how do you know what Derek likes to drink?" Talia asked curiously, something made her curious about this boy and she didn't know what, he was a young Alpha, same age as Derek when Derek was an Alpha

Stiles shrugs placing a cup of tea infront of Derek, "he has a lot of tea at his house, I noticed the first time I went there, he mostly had cinnimon and vanilla then anything else"

Talia nods and sips her tea "thank you" Derek says as he drinks the tea, raising an eyebrow at his mother who's now staring at Stiles with amusement "mum"

Talia blinked and looked at Derek "yes son?"

"stop staring at him" shhe frowned at Derek

puting her half empty cup down she sighed "im not staring, anyway's I need to go see you both in two days don't be late"

With that Talia got up and left, Derek looked at Stiles and moved over towards him "you alright with that"

Stiles nodded "yeah that's fine" Stiles mumbled rubbing his eyes, "thank you"

Derek nodded "I should take my pack home, we can arrange training sometime when you're ready"

Stiles nodded again looking up at Derek with a smile "that would be great"

Derek smiled he didn't think when he leaned down giving Stiles a kiss on the cheek them both tensing up at the gesture before blushing and stumbling over each other to leave the kitchen and Derek announcing it was time to leave, both of them still blushing and not looking at each other as Derek's pack scattered from the house after a glare from Derek after they just stared at the two Alpha's, Derek took one last glance at Stiles before shutting the door behind him after walking out
