Mitsuki waited for the rest of his team at the training grounds. He knew Boruto was the only one who sometimes came late to train, but Sarada being kate as well had him worried.
"It's been hours and they haven't arrived." He said in a thoughtful tone. "I wonder why they haven't came yet."
After a while, he saw two familiar figures walking towards him. He noticed that they were extremely close. As if they were an actual couple.
"Hey, Mitsuki!" Boruto said ain a happy and relaxed tone. "Sorry we're late. Sarada and I were finishing some business here."
"Huh....really? What was it about? And why you guys didn't told me?" He asked with surprise.
"Well, is kinda personal. Right Sarada-chan?" He said as he placed his arm around the quiet Uchiha. "You see, Sarada and I are a dating now. Is just that she's so embarrased to say it."
Mitsuki blinked for a while. "Is that true Sarada? You finally confessed your feelings for him?"
"W-well....he....he...." she tried to say.
"More like, I figured it out." Boritu said with a smirk. "Anyway, we have a special mission today."
"Mission?" Sarada and Mitsuki said.
"Something's happening at the Hokage's tower. Specially at the prison. Sarada told me that they won't tell is what it is but it seemed important."
"Then we must check it out."
"Right. Let's go!" Boruto said.
****
I cannot believe it. Shinki will become the next Kazekage.
I mean, it was eventually going to happen but I still feel happy for him. But I never imagined what came next.
*Fashback*
"Shinki come on! Just tell me what's going on." I complained while following him. "We went to train, them to eat ice cream, then have dinner and you're still hiding something from me."
"Are you really making a pouting fave for me." He replied.
"What? Does it annoy you?" I said with a smirk. "Come on, just said it please, please, please!!"
He laughed as he hugged me and kissed my forehead. "Soon, love."
After a while, we reached the top of the wall that gave us a great view of the village. It was late afternoon and we were both staring at it in awe.
"Himawari" he said while I turned to face him.
"Yes?" I said as the wind started flowing like it usually did at that hour.
"I've been oficially chosen to become the next Kazekage. Father and the council said that I'm ready to take his place as the new leader."
"That's amazing! It's what you've always wanted. To make your father proud, become a great shinobi and rule the village to a new era of peace." I said with excitement.
"We're both son and daughter of village leaders, you know this job brings many benefits, but also many responsibilities." He said as he took my hand while with the other he created an iron ring with the tiny siluette of a rose.
My eyes widened in shock.
"I know the pain you've had because of being the Hokage's daughter and I cannot promise to erase that suffering this job come with but.....If I will walk this path with someone, I would rather do it with you. No matter your condition, no matter what happens. I want you to join me in this new chapter of our lives."
He took a long, nervous breath. "What do you say?"
*End of Flashback*
I smiled at the memory of how he proposed me 3 months ago. I still haven't delivered the news to my father because I have to convince the council first about the marriage and of course, due to my condition they don't wannatae risks.
And the last thing I want to do is hurt the village where I will spend the rest of my life if I get married.
A knock om the door was heard. It was one of the Kazekage's guards, requesting me to visit him at the office.
'Has Shinki told him?'
"Welcome, Himawari. Have a sit please" Lord Gaara said in a calm tone. "I hope you're enjoying your stay at Suna."
"I certainly am, thank you" I replied. "Did something bad hapoened at home?"
"There are actually good news." He said while handing me an official report from Konoha. "You should read it yourself."
After a while I couldn't help but look bacj at him in shock. "Is...is....is he truly....dead?!?!"
My mind was racing. I wanted to believe it, but the episodes I've been having made me doubt. "But I still have some small episodes."
"The theory they implied is that the vessels take a little longer than usual to break from the connection they had with the perpetrator. Hopefully in another few months you'll be free from the poison."
I was crying of happiness. I cannot believe it. I was getting married and Toneri died!
"Thank you..." I murmured. "Thank Kami for this..."
Gaara looked at me in awe. "No, thank you for showing us how strong you are as a shonobi and as a human being. Apart from your father, there haven't been anyone with a will so strong that could match his. Shinki made the right choice."
"W-what?"
He smirked. "He may be adopted but I'm his father. I know he proposed you, I've never seen him this happier. Congratulations, daughter."
"T-Thank you... Please don't tell father yet. We have to convince the council first about the marriage."
"I can arrange to make the process easier."
"Thank you, but we thought on winning their trust by ourselves."
"Smart choice. Very well, Naruto won't know until everything's settled here. Until the time comes, nobody will know about the wedding."
"Thank you." I smiled at him.
"On another note, your father sent a letter. Boruto and his friends will visit you."
"...oh... That's great!" I lied, remembering the last time I spoke to him.
"They'll be staying for 3 weeks. Hope it doesn't bother you."
"No, not at all." I replied. How the hell am I going to do? What if Boruto gets mad at me? Will he tell father? And what if it doesn't? He will just annoy me until he has to go back? And what about the rest?
"What do I do now?
