We laid in the grass with very few clothes on. I mean, who's going to find us here who we won't hear first? I had on my shirt while Colby had on his pants. We were, as cliche as it is, looking out at the view in complete silence, just enjoying each other's company. We didn't even notice the sun rising until my power felt drained. I quickly slipped on my pants and looked down at Colby, who was watching me. "You coming back to the house?" I asked as I checked my phone for messages. Nothing.

"I don't know. I got two pretty good views from right here." His hands rested behind his head and he grinned at me.

"Well, I'm going." I said casually and paused. "Last chance." There was a moment of silence behind me then Colby was by my side, changed and ready.

"Lets go, milady." I rolled my eyes at his terrible fake accent and prepared myself to run.

"Race you." And I was gone. I tried my best to go as fast as possible. I knew people wouldn't be able to see me so I skipped past some. The small family seemed to be having a good time and I was in control enough that I could keep going. Colby was hot on my tail the whole time. I could hear and sense him. He was probably going to win because his speed is better than mine but he was staying behind me for now. We were barely on his street when I felt his foot trip me. Before I could fall to the ground, my vampire senses picked me back up. "Bitch!" I yelled as I made it through the front door. Colby was just standing in the hallway, smirking like a child who'd successfully pranked his parents. "You cheated." I complained, shutting the door.

"Nope. I'm just faster than you." He replied proudly, stepping back so that I wouldn't kill him right there.

"So you didn't mean to trip me up?" I challenged, crossing my arms and raising my eyebrows. Now I felt like a mother. Colby smiled and shrugged.

"Admit I'm faster than you." He said with that grin still on his face. I shook my head and sped forwards, knocking him easily to the ground.

"You got distracted." I teased and reached up to my hair to make sure it was still neatly in the ponytail. Colby playfully growled at me right as our ears picked up voices upstairs.

"At least we know they're alive." Corey said with a laugh to who I assumed was Devyn.

"Yeah, and fighting like children." Sam added. He didn't sound particularly pleased. Colby and I laughed a little on our way up the steps.

"Wanna fight?" I challenged Sam as we got to the top. There were a few laughs from various rooms.

"Come at me." He challenged right back. Colby just shook his head and rolled his eyes at the whole thing.

"I have better things to do with my... life." We were in Colby's bedroom now, already sitting on his bed.

"Like bang." Jake snorted. Colby smirked to himself and before I could answer, he did. And it horrified me.

"Already did, bro." My jaw dropped and I threw his pillow at him.

"Colby!" I scolded with a whine. It didn't settle on me how weird it was to be having a casual conversation with everyone in the house whilst in completely separate rooms.

"Will you go to damn sleep?" Tara practically growled and made everyone laugh. I laid back in Colby's bed, pulling the covers over me even if I didn't need them.

"Sorry." Jake sounded genuine. Everything went quiet so Colby got in bed with me too. His arms wrapped around me and our eyes closed at the same time.
