It must have been nighttime because when I woke up, the room wasn't even the slightest bit light. In fact, it was weirdly darker than I'd ever seen it. I flicked my eyes over to the window to see that the moon was at the very top of the night sky. So it's only about twelve still. I quickly changed at vampire speed. "Ah, she's awoken." Sam said for the millionth time in the last couple of months. It was honestly getting old.
"Yes, Sam, I am. Like every other day." I replied bluntly, popping up in the garage. Everyone was already in there, including Rachel to my surprise and Tori too. Tori had been told about vampires pretty quickly after she was established officially as Aaron's girlfriend so she didn't mind me speeding into the room faster than she could see. I say down on Colby's lap, letting his arm wrap around my waist. "Shouldn't you be in bed?" I asked Rachel with suspicious eyes; narrowed.
"It's not a school night." She denied, shaking her head with a massive smirk on her face. I playfully glared at her then everyone eased into our normal conversations. Nothing seemed different or unusual at all. Everyone was still completely animated no matter what the time, Corey dancing sometimes even. I hadn't particularly left Colby's side the whole time because I wasn't interested in dancing. The only weird thing about everything was that I felt like something weird was gonna happen. Or something bad.
"Oh come on, of course there's a guy you like." Katrina said quietly to Rachel, thinking I wouldn't hear. I pretended like I hadn't, continuing to stare at Corey, who was speaking to Colby.
"No, not really." Rachel shook her head but I could smell the blush on her cheeks. "No one who notices me anyway." She mumbled under her breath. Colby met my eyes knowingly. I was feeling overprotective times three thousand.
"So there is someone." Katrina grinned at her, reaching over and shaking her arm to encourage her to say more. I looked over at them finally, curiously watching the way Rachel was blushing and the way Katrina was smiling.
"Someone, yes." I looked at Colby in alarm, who just playfully rolled his eyes and smiled. He leaned down closer to my ear so that she wouldn't hear him.
"She'll have someone at some point. She's sixteen." He whispered to me. I crossed my arms in a huff but no one seemed to care. In fact, most of them were laughing at me as well.
"We'll talk more about it another time." Rachel slowly got up from her seat and walked to the door. "I'm going to bed." She said with a smile then disappeared. I watched her; listening to her footsteps walking away until the sound of her door shut upstairs.
"Why does Vanessa look annoyed?" Katrina asked in surprise, finally noticing my crossed arms and furrowed eyebrows. Everyone looked at each other in amusement. "Don't say it's because what Rachel said." She somewhat asked incredulously. I just shrugged my shoulders back in annoyance.
"You do realise she's going to have boyfriends?" Corey reminded me. I glared at him then looked away from everyone, lying down facing away from them all. There were a few laughs but mostly silence. I didn't find it all too funny.
