Chapter 38
————————
Gray lived in a penthouse, closer to the hospital mom and he works at. Handing valet his keys, he turned to a very nervous and fidgety mom. He instantly broke into a warm grin. "How many times do I have to tell you? She loves you."
Justin and I awww in the background. Mom shakes her head, "I don't trust you. When I had met her I spilled drinks all over the table. She hates me!"
Gray gave her another of his warm grins. "That was adorable." Mom slap his arm and turn to me. "Tara, is my makeup okay? Or do I look like a fake hoe?"
"You look smoking hot." Justin answered for me. Mom rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. Her nervous breakdown was cute.
"It will be alright," I assure mom. "You're the coolest woman she'll ever meet anyways."
Mom laughed nervously. Gray placed his hand on her back and guided her into the building. Justin and I aww at that too.
Gray's mom, Patricia, looked older than she was. Her white hair, fitted black dress and pink lips showed how much collected and composed she always was. "Oh hello Teresa!" She greeted.
"Hello, Patricia. How are you?" Mom asked, she still sounded nervous.
She shrugged. "Same old." She turned her gaze at me, "And you are?"
"Tara. I'm her daughter."
She nods. "Oh I've heard a lot about you. Nice to meet you Tara, how do you like my home?" She asked and I hesitated. I was still by the main door and I had not seen the space yet. "It's great." I lie.
She thanked me and then turned to Justin. "Hello, I'm Justin. I must say in my eighteen years of existence, I've never seen a woman so vibrant. You are lovely, it's my pleasure to meet you." He stretched out his hand. For the first time, Patricia smiled.
"My my! You're a handsome young man. It's nice to meet you to Justin." They shook their hands but didn't let go. Taking Justin's hand in both of her hands, she guided him into the house and started showing us around.
Mom and I share a confused look.
"Oh and this balcony garden, I've been working on this for a while now. It's not much. But I'm very old, I can't work long enough." Patricia babbled on. Justin scoffs.
"You? Old? You're a funny woman." Justin shook his head and started examining the plants. He's outrageous. Can he not flirt with Gray's 60 year old mom?
Patricia laughed a little. "Oh Justin, I'm really very old."
Justin gave her a smile, "You look like you're still in your naughty forties."
"Oh!" She exclaimed before starting to laugh really loudly. So far, I don't know what to feel about this woman though. She couldn't possibly be buying the crap Justin was saying. But it didn't seem like it.
At the dining table, I sat quietly and stared at the duo. Justin run his hand through her hair. "It's really very soft. You're perfect Patricia."
"That's what he said last night." Patricia winked at Justin. Gray started coughing very loudly as mom and I exchanged a look. What the hell?
"What a lucky man!" Justin exclaimed. Patricia giggled.
"What are you talking about mom?" Gray asked her. She only shrugs, as if it was nothing surprising. "What? I'm a tad bit old but I'm beautiful and single, it's only normal." Justin agreed with her. Gray sighed. "I need to stop doing 36 hours shift." He mumbled loud enough.
