Chapter 47
______________

I look at our coffee mugs and snicker. While his was completely dark, mine was almost light, with a lot of cream on top. How could we be so different from each other and still share the same vibes?

"Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that head of yours." Adrian spoke up. I look at him and grin cheekily. "But then I realise I should stay away from crazy places."

I threw my spoon at him. He caught it and licked it. Rolling my eyes I grab my mug and walk to the small book shelf they have. I grab a Rupi Kaur book and surf through the pages when he shows up next to me.

He grabs a random book and starts reading it. I look at him from the corner of my eye as his eyes slightly narrow as he keeps on reading. I look away and turn the pages of my book.

"Holy shit she's about to commit suicide." He spoke up.

I tilt my head towards him. He was reading It Ends With Us as far as I remember no one dies in that book, except for her jackass dad.

"No she's not, she's just chilling over there." I reply and look away. Closing the book Adrian sipped his own coffee. "Can't believe I just read a romance book. Disgusting."

"They are not bad okay?" I get defensive. Adrian rolled his eyes. "They are cringy."

"Not all of them." I shot back. Adrian rolled his eyes and he walked away from me as I looked back at my book. When I got back to my seat Adrian had his cigarette lit as he looked out of the window.

"It's going to rain tonight." He told me. I smile out of the window. "That's cool."

He looked at me, rolled his eyes and looked away.  "I'll have to pay with my head if you get sick tonight." He muttered loud enough for me to hear.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask him. He shook his head.

"Can we talk about James?" I ask all of a sudden. Adrian looked at me skeptically and blew out puffs of smoke. "What about him?"

"The boxing, it didn't look healthy for him." I say and realise how dum that sounds. Adrian's eyes narrow. "No shit Tara."

"Does he really like what he does or he does it to get his mind off things?"

Adrian thought about my question for a while. "He does it to earn."

"It's like he's forcing himself to hurt people, or get hurt." I tell him.

"You've never seen him fight before have you?" He asked me and I shook my head. "I've known him for five years now so trust me when I say this, he knows what he's doing and he'll very much appreciate it if you kept your nose out of his business and don't annoy him about it."

I gulp and look away. He had a point tho...

"Come let's get out of here." He said after a while and grabbed his jacket. He didn't even wait for me and stormed out of the cafe. I sigh, last thing I need is Adrian to be mad at me.

"I was just looking out for my big brother." I tell him. Adrian's back was in front of me and I stared at his leather. "I care about that big teddy bear and would love to help him anyway. I hope it doesn't annoy him."
