The next day I was ready to go back to school. I really didn't want to. I would have to deal with Alisha, and that is something I really don't need or want.

I walked into school with my arm around Lucas' and Alisha gave me the glare. No matter how hard she tried, I would never let her take Lucas from me.

"You piece of scum!" She ran up to me and slapped me.

Lucas' mouth was wide open. "Alisha? What the crap!"

She glared at me while I sat there giving her and eyebrow raise. She gave me a wicked smile and her lips crashed into Lucas'. She pushed me away and pushed her lips onto his. Lucas had his eyes wide open and was trying to push her away but she kept clinging on to him.

She finally moved him and giggled. "See you later hot stuff." She laughed and poked his chest.

"No you won't!" I screamed and landed a punch right on her jaw and she grunted. She pulled my hair and I punched her again. "Listen here. You step away or I'll get you back." I got up from on top of her and ran out of the school doors back home.

"What am I doing?" I sniffed and ran as far as I could. I ran until I got to my house. I unlocked my door and ran up into my room, luckily my mom was at work.

I didn't cry. I just sat and looked at the ceiling for about 2 hours. Maybe I should go back? I couldn't let Alisha win.

I walked back to school and I was suddenly back at school and in 5th period. People looked at me and I smiled back and they just turned around. The room wasn't dark, it was dim so I quietly got my science textbook out of my bag and took out a pencil.

"Alright class, let's learn about atoms, elements and compounds. Who can give me a summary of what we learned last time?" The teacher was happy and continued class while everone else took notes. I continued on with my day until ninth period. I would have to talk to Lucas and Alisha.

"Genevieve?" Lucas reached out and gently tapped me.

I turned around and smiled at him. "Lucas." I nodded and he held my hand.

"Are you okay?" He gave me a sympathetic look and gave me a peck on the lips.

I blushed and looked at him. "I'm fine." I closed my eyes and put y head down on my desk. Thank god for study hall.

After school finished, Lucas and I drove to the river and sat on a bench so our feet were barely touching the water. We looked at each other's reflections and had our fingers intertwined.

"You know I only love you?" Lucas tapped my finger.

"Mhm." My heart broke as I said it. "I-I know."

"You don't love me anymore. I understand." He put his head down and a tear drop tickled his cheek.

I sat in silence with my arms around my knees. "Lucas. I love you." I really did, at least I wanted to.
