Apologies ~ Monoma Neito x Reader (DISCONTINUED)

Sports Festival I

The previous days were very tiring. Me and the others continued to train in that same spot again, only to see Bakugo getting more and more agressive. It was horrifying.

It was all just for this event. Where students fight and are observed by different classes, as well as pro heroes.

Come to think of it, I never knew about Monoma's quirk.

Not time to think about that, though. Here I am at the class 1A waiting room, watching Izuku tell Todoroki that he's gonna give it his all.

Sooner enough, we were told to prepare to walk out there.

Some of us were panicking.
Some of us were somewhat confident.
It reminds me of the day of the entrance exam.

A few moments after, we were eventually told to walk out there.

Hundreds.. or probably more people were watching us. They were cheering.

I waved a little and went with the flow as everyone enjoyed this small moment.

It was all smiles until Bakugo was told to go on stage.

And I was right.

"I pledge.."

"...that I will be number one."

Then that second,

"Booooo!!!"

"Get off the stage!"

Bakugo seemed chill at that time. He just stood there, ignoring everyone.

Meanwhile I was there, facepalming.

"He's the reason why we're gonna be at the center of hate someday."

"Yeah. No doubt." Jiro comments.

It took a while before Midnight announced the first event - The Obstacle Race.

It takes around 4km around the stadium.

This'll be fun.

Beginning of the Obstacle Race

"START!!!!!"

People starting pushing each other, the whole starting line was crowded with a bunch of students trying to make it to 1st place.

When we all finally got out, guess what? Todoroki freezes our feet in place.

Unlucky for him, we're somewhat the same.

I raise my temperature and melt the ice.

Thank God the stadium has sunlight.

I follow Todoroki's ice trail by using a solar beam to boost me, as well as to melt the trail.

By the time everyone got out of that ice wreck, I was already facing the robots. I was behind Todoroki, so I had a faint idea of what he was planning. Instead, since the sky was very clear today, I brought myself up mid-air and burnt a hole into the gigantic robot, before going through it and making my way back to the sweet, sweet ground.

Seemed like I was ahead people. The main problem here is Todoroki and Bakugo.

The next obstacle was tricky. It was a huge canyon with no bridges at all unless you count the ropes.

I was ahead of the others, so since no one else was there I used another solar beam and boosted myself to the other side of the canyon.

Unfortunately life wasn't easy from there.

There behind me stood Izuku who looked desperate to surpass me.
How did he get here..?

I began freezing the ground again before reaching the last obstacle, while hearing the sounds of the crowd behind me.

There was a landmine field. The mines wouldn't be dangerous, but I tried kicking one in case.

The mine blew up and released pink smoke.

Another boost would be good for this, but the field was wide.

The others were catching up, and Izuku's already gotten into the field.

I began freezing the floor and sliding through the field before those mines somehow blow up.

Suddenly, they did, but that's not stopping the ones before me.

Izuku seemed to be on the lead. I have no idea how that happened. At this rate, I'm gonna place fourth.

I boosted myself up again with a solar beam, in hopes to surpass the ones in the lead. As the mines blew up, I found myself out of the field, placing fourth.

"Y/n! You were so cool!!!" Mina cheered.

"She's right. You did very well." Yaoyorozu added.

"Thanks, you guys. I appreciate that." I smiled.

It's not very often for me to be commended for doing things on my own. I never wanted to win the festival in the first place, but because of that stupid (but fun) bet, I got motivation now.

Suddenly, Midnight announces the next event - The Cavalry Battle.

We were told to form into groups of 2-4. The goal is to steal the headbands of other teams.

Whoever gets the most points wins.

(Can't find the exact number of points so I'm just gonna-)

With me being in 4th place, seems like alot of people will be taking me as a target.

Now, all I have to do is find a tea-

Ah.
Right.

I don't have friends.
(Mood)

"Would you care to join my team?"

A guy with purple anti-gravity snakes for hair with dark bags under his eyes asks me.

I don't know him but.. seems like all the teams are taken.

"Alright!"

(Just so you know he's taken mercy on you and decided to not activate his quirk yet because he's actually gonna-)

"Considering you have the most points.. you should take the lead." He looked at me with a serious look in his eyes.

"May I uhm.. Ask what your quirk is?"

"... Very well. My quirk is Brainwash. It speaks for itself. I can only gain control of someone if they respond to me, verbally in this case."

"Ah. Uhm- Why wasn't I brainwashed..?"

"I didn't want to. I was planning to use you as a pawn, but judging from your actions in the race, we're better off with you leading the team."

"Aww, that's nice of you! Where's the rest of the team, then?"

"Over here." He pointed at Ojiro and this other guy from 1B.
