Past selves

"So what was the commotion about?" Alice asked as the three walked through the door but instead of answering Elise flopped himself straight onto his bed hugging the hoodie Alice had gotten him, Asuka went and hid herself under her duvet, and Miss Yuuki just went and sat down on her bed. "Is anyone gonna answer me?" Alice asked, but the only response she got was Miss Yuuki who just shook her head. "Oh great this again." Alice said as she sat down on Elise's bed to try to get his attention. "So how long have you two been awake for?" Asked Miss Yuuki. "Elise has been up for an hour and a half and I've been up since half 10." Alice said as she got up to go give Asuka a hug. "If you've been up that long why didn't you come to class then?"
"Oh uhh, I was trying to wake Elise up."
"That's bull, she's trying to cover up the fact I wasn't able to sleep properly so she was watching over me." Elise said with his face still buried into his pillow, while still holding the hoodie. "Why wasn't you sleeping properly, if you don't mind me asking?" Asked Miss Yuuki hoping it had nothing to do with what her farther said. "Don't worry about it it's fine now I can sleep again though that's what I still wanna be doing cos I'm exhausted." Elise said as he moved around in his bed trying to get comfy. "Need me to come over there and lie on you again?" Asked Alice in her flirty tone. "Nah it's fine I'll just stay up till later." Elise said as he sat up, still holding onto the hoodie. "Okay, but do you know why Asuka is like this?" Alice asked as she was concerned for her friend. "I have an idea why yeah, but am I gonna tell you it no."
"Why not?"
"It's not my choice, it's hers, she doesn't want people to know so I don't tell people, it's as simple as that."
" Asuka, is it okay for Elise to say what he thinks is wrong? " Alice asked Asuka, who have a slight nod which both Elise and Alice saw. "Okay then, as you know by now both me and Asuka was apart of the same tribe in the outskirts, but what you don't know is that the family that watched over me, and sheltered me was Asuka's, so I saw her grow up throughout my time there, and every time I saw her outside the house she tried to be a headstrong person who could fend for themself but when it didn't work, I was there, or someone else one to help her, which caused her to be like this when we got back, as she started out as being weak and defenseless and always relying on people and she hated it, I'm not sure why but she did, so when she had to rely on someone when she was being strong it hurt her more than what she endured before it."
"But then aren't we all the same we all were weak at one point?"
"Yeah that's the part she doesn't get, she doesn't know about how much I went to to become the person I am today and yet she saw the stronger side of me everyday which could have resulted I'm this."
"It wasn't that." Asuka said as she came out from under the duvet with tears in her eyes. "I hated losing people, and when people had to protect me they risked their lives and some of them did lose them, so I hated myself for being weak and I had to get stronger and yet I'm still too weak to even fight for myself." By this point Asuka was crying a lot and holding tightly to Alice, and Elise had gotten up and walk toward them. "And who else has ever called you weak, cos I never heard anyone say it, and in fact I see you as being strong, I always have, it's just a different type of strength some of us have physical strength some emotional, and some of us have the best strength out of the three, the one you have, the strength to keep going despite what you or others think, the strength to survive." Elise said as he gave Asuka a hug.
"What about the rest of us what type if strength do we have?" Asked Miss Yuuki. "No clue what so ever." Said Elise. "How do you not know?" Asked Alice. "Think about it this way physical strength is the easiest to see and one that can be trained in the simplest way whereas the other two can be built up it takes a lot of trauma to train them both but one requires more resilience to keep, but anyway enough of that and back to what happened outside, what does the school do about people trying to harm students?" Elise asked Alice. "Removes them and doesn't let them back on campus, why you asking?"
"Cos that's kinda what happened earlier but if that's what they do then we should be fine, how about you Asuka how you holding up?"
" I'm better than before thanks to you, but could be better. " Said Asuka. "Good." Said Elise. "I have a quick question, what's up with the hoodie?" Asked Miss Yuuki, as Elise still had hold of the pink hoodie that Alice has gotten him. "Oh that, well, it's really soft, and also the first thing someone bought me just to buy me something so yeah I keep hold of it when I don't have it on, anyone else got any questions that are appropriate?" Elise asked to avoid the subject of the hoodie anymore than that. "What did you used to do in the tribe?" Asked Alice. "Cos I know that Asuka went on hunts with you and others, but according to her you did something else, what was it?"
" I'm curious to know myself since my family didn't tell me that even after you left. " Said Asuka. "Well, I was a mix between a mercenary and an assassin, and I brought in quite a bit of money for the tribe but they hated me going on hunts, but that's what I wanted to do but instead they turned me into a trained killer, though my days of killing for money went out the window the day I left the tribe." Said Elise not seeming to be too ashamed of his past. "Then what is it you was doing the night you found me?" Asked Miss Yuuki. "Oh that, it was a job for Hazama, the security on this place was worried they were gonna be robbed so they wanted someone to watch it, though as you saw they got away which is why Jackal showed up when he did cos Hazama wasn't gonna be paid as I screwed the mission up but who cares now."
" I thought Hazama runs a shop? " asked Alice.
"He does, and also a protection agency, at least that's what I was going, not sure about Jackal, so who knows what his organization actually is." And after that was said the rest of the time was spent with everyone getting to know each other more and then playing a few games, with Alice taking the chances she could to flirt with Elise, but other than that it was a normal night.
