Change Pt 1

Jame's POV

I had been waiting almost all day for y/n to return home from Jaiden's. I kept hearing strange noises and it was starting to freak me out a bit.

As usual, the neighbors weren't home. That means they were probably up to something somewhere else in the large neighborhood we I live in.

Our neighbors are some of many who are never home. I always thought it was rather strange that no one was ever there, but who am I to judge? I sat down on the couch for the last time before gently drifting off to sleep awaiting y/n's arrival.

"James wake up!" I heard a cheerful voice chirp from across the room. The door was being shut as I looked over to see y/n walk in. My eyes instinctively looked her up and down to take in just how beautiful she was. Nothing could change my mind, she was mine for good.

"I'm up now." I said, trying to grab every last bit of attention from her I could . The noises continued, as if someone was there. I could tell they put y/n on end as well. She looked jumpy.

"Everything okay around here?" She asked with a hint of fear in her voice. This concerned me.
"As far as I know, yes. If you are referring to the noises, no."
"Have you looked to see what it was?"
I shook my head in response. There was no winning at this point.

I watched her walk over to where the noises were coming from and noticed it was at the back door. I felt like an idiot for allowing her to go check and not going myself. What if she got hurt? I would never forgive myself.

When she returned, I let out a sigh of relief. My prayers had been silently answered.

"James..?" She questioned. " Did you know there was a puppy scratching at the door? "
My eyes widened. I had no clue.
"Well, I'm taking that as a no." She sat down beside me with he puppy in her lap. It had a collar and a tag on it with the name Woofers .
Who would name their dog woofers?(author chan apparently)
"Have you ever seen this dog before?" She asked. Now that I thought about it, it did in fact look familiar.
" Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the neighbors dog. I don't think they have been home in a while. "
The thought that they had abandoned their dog scared me. Even if it was something small that I shouldn't worry about. I wondered what was going on, why they haven't been home, why they left their dog. Nothing seemed to fit into place.
"We should go see if they are home." I suggested . Y/n nodded in response. This was going to be interesting.

I stood up from my spot wearily, reminding me that I was not completely myself just yet. Either way, I was still going.
I walked into my somewhat unfamiliar room from my lack of visitation. I quickly got dressed and then hurried back downstairs.
Y/n was waiting with the puppy still in her lap. She seemed to be in love with him.
"Ready?" She asked cheerfully, as always. I smiled and nodded, then we walked out the front door to face whatever madness we were going to face.

Yes everyone, author is back!! I am looking for some editors possibly. It has been brought to my attention that I do not have a lot of time to write not motivation at times and I am trying to make everyone happy and reply to comments and not offend anyone. As much as I enjoy making this series and seeing everyone love it, chapters will be coming out slowly for a bit longer. However, I am promising longer chapters from now on and I am also taking requests for any other series you want me to write!!
