Unanswered questions

My hands wearily fidgeted with each other. Had he actually asked this question or was this my mind playing tricks on me?

I tried my best to answer honestly. Truth be told, I had no idea what we were. However, what if he thought we were something? What was he thinking we were?

"I really don't know James." His grip tightened around me.
There was no going back now.

"What do you want us to be?" I questioned. Maybe there wasn't anything to worry about. Sure, I was totally overreacting. However, that little thought didn't stop my early mid life crisis.

"Something more." His eyes bore into my own irises. I could tell he was serious. Emotion swam through his eyes as if his mind was a stew of feelings he had never felt before.
I could read everything he was feeling.
Love, adoration, nervousness. Everything I felt was emitted back at me through his look.

"That would be nice, James." I stated with a smile that hurt my cheeks. It was so much. My stomach twirled into knots as his arm slowly slid up my torso, landing on the side of my face tenderly. Warmth was all my cheeks gave off. His hand gently stroked my cheek with affection.

"How about my girlfriend?" He asked gently, holding back his nervousness . I got my lip to conceal my growing grin.

"Yes, a million times yes!" I yelled, jumping up and down like a child.

Just when I thought our moment had ended, he lifted my chin up to meet his gaze.
"Y/n." He called. I hummed in response, face somehow heating more than it had before.
"I- I love you." He stated, pulling me closer to him with his free hand.

"I love you t-too!" I replied before leaning into his frame. He still healed my face gently . He smiled before pulling my face to meet his. His breath lingered on my lips and his eyes drifted towards them. I knew what he wanted. In all honesty, I did too. I allowed him to pull me closer into his chest, fitting perfectly against him.

In a moment that lasted for what seemed like forever, our lips locked together in a dance that I was most certainly not used to.

But I would be lying if I said I didn't like it.

I felt him smile into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

Breathlessly, we pulled away. My face was red. The only word that crosses my mind was the thing that made me the happiest person in the world.

" Girlfriend."
He smiled at me, pulling me into a home crushing hug.
"Boyfriend." He said back, stating that was what he was to me.

I'm back? Shorter than I realized it would have been. I'm much enjoying summer, even though the stupid quarantine is still in commission. Either way, I hope all of my little children are staying safe!! I love you all so so so much! Thank you all so much for the support. I wanted to cry with tears of joy of the happy comments and supportive replies I receive from everyone who reads this book!!! ~Tori
