Roxie's POV

I shot back the rest of my second vodka cranberry of the night, giggling furiously at the story Khloe was telling about some out of control client at her work that got too drunk the other night. My body was feeling light and my head was buzzing the perfect amount. I felt good.

"I'm so glad you made me come out tonight, Khlo," I yelled into her ear so she could hear over the bumping music.

"I know, you light-weight. C'mon, let's go to the VIP," she yelled back, grabbing me by the crook of my arm and dragging me to the other side of the club. I smiled flirtatiously at the bouncer guarding a set of stairs before he moved to allow Khloe and me up. The sober part of my brain knew it was because she had connections everywhere, but the tipsy part of my brain wanted to believe it was because he thought I was hot.

"It's so nice and quiet up here!" I whispered as the music grew softer the further we ventured into the extravagant room.

"I know, right? The walls and floors are sound canceling to 'enhance the ambiance and experience'," she said with a posh accent while sticking her nose up in the air and deepening the tone of her voice. I laughed furiously at her, causing every single head in the room to turn our way. Had I been sober, I would've been mortified, but the liquid courage in my system prompted me to just smile like an idiot before giving a single finger-twiddling wave to no one in particular.

"Either everyone in the room popped viagra at the same time, or you're one sexy mama," Khloe commented before shooting me a knowing smirk. I blushed while shoving at her arm.

"Oooh, he's cute," I whispered while looking directly at a handsome man who I'd place in the early thirties.

"You feeling daring?" Khloe asked with her back to the guy, though it sounded like more of a challenge.

"Ma'am, this is courtesy of the gentleman over there," a waitress told me before looking pointedly at the man I'd just been eyeing. I bit my lip while locking eyes with him. A slow, sensual smirk took over his face as he stared back intently. I took the shot and downed it in one go before setting the glass back on the tray and thanking the woman as she walked off.

"Now I am," I shot back at Khloe. She just snickered while shaking her head.

"I dare you to go sit on his lap right now," she stated, clearly expecting me to blush and refuse. Not tonight, though. Mama didn't raise a coward.

I didn't answer her, just strutted towards the table where the man in question was sitting. He looked away from whoever he was speaking with and gave me an inquisitive look. As I grew closer, his face grew more amused, obviously trying to figure out what I was going to do. His legs were spread wide across the booth as he swirled the ice cubes around in his glass of what I assumed was whiskey, allowing me to easily slide myself onto his lap comfortably.
