Why was Neil here? Running directly towards us? In the middle of these random moors? I was lucky I hadn't spread my wings yet.
"Should we just go? Or do we talk to him?" Audra whispered.
"Umm..." I didn't have much time to think before he actually saw us.
"Well, guess we're talkin' to him" I said.
In no time he was up on the hill with us. Only now do I realize he was taller than Audra too. He was grinning, but heaving for air too.
"Hey guys. What are you doing out here?" He asked.
"I'd ask you the same thing," I replied. Neil gave me an odd look. Then he said,
"I was-er-going for a walk. And then I saw you."
"Why in this town though?" I asked. It was real far from Woodleif.
"I was going out for dinner with my family?" He said, but it came out like a question. Yeah, you have probably figured out he was lying. One of his quirks is he isn't very good at doing so. I have had to alot, to explain incidents with my wings. It didn't feel fair though, lying to the person I'm closest to, and him barely being able to
"But why are you here?" He asked me again.
"I have been to this town before, and I like this place here," I gestured to the hills, "and I was doing some stargazing with Audra." Yes, I did know some astronomy, and yes, it was already getting dark out, and yes, this was a cool place. See what I mean about the lying thing?
"Alright then, did you see any big birds. Like, really big? Or any other strange animal?" Neil asked us.
"Nah," I told him.
"Hm," he huffed, " I swear it was here..."
"What was here?" Audra asked.
"N-nothing," Neil said. Wow. The fact he was lying was probably visible from space.
"I should just go... see yah!" He said and left briskly. After a moment of watching him go, Audra turns to me, points her finger at me, and says,
"Don't you dare go after him-" but I was already following.
"Seriously?" Audra grunted, "can't the boy just leave? Cirocco? Hey?!"
I kept going after him. I made sure to duck into the overly tall grass or hide behind a rock or tree whenever Neil turned. It took a while, but he finally stopped. I peeked around my hiding spot, and took a look around.
We were at the edge of a cliff, leading down into the strait in between more cliffs. Right in front of Neil was a large, thick tree. It had a small pool at the base, filled with dark water. Was it even water? Maybe it looked dark because of the dark sky, but I didn't think so. He said something that sounded like gibberish into it/
"Neil Everton, there is no need to speak Coelumese to me," a voice said. It sounded British, and I couldn't tell if it was a man or woman, but it was definitely adult. With a shock, I realized it was the dude from school! I restrained a gasp.
"Sorry Terrus," Neil apologized. So Terrus must be the name of the person. But where were they? Was the pool somehow like a magical Skype pool?
"It's fine Mr. Everton. I will have Roxanne Lione come pick you up," the Terrus Dude continued, "be ready with your... well... your information."
Neil nodded. "Ari always comes to fly me back, so will he come too?"
"I would assume so."
