We stepped out of the abysschamber to find I had accidentally knocked out the guard standing by the door... with the door.
"Oopsie," Raina said, stepping out beside me,"But an oopsie in our favour, I guess." I shrugged. In this light, I could see she and River had tails, like, actual feathery bird tails. I didn't want to stare in that area for a while, so I ignored it.
I realized that we'd been talking really loud in there, but out here the air was thinner and we could easily hear one another. What was with that thing?
I heard shouts and footsteps echoing down the stone hallways, and began to panic.
"Guys!" Audra gasped, "I know where we are! Follow me!" She took off right, and I charged off after her.
The four-- no, six, sorry-- of us darted down multiple hallways, sprinting around corners and past doors. Just when I thought we were lost, Audra stopped us at a door labled Weaponry.
"Why do we need to go in here?" River asked nervously.
"It's where I got this," Audra explained, patting her dagger, tucked into the sheath on her thigh. She opened the doors (which looked liked pretty patched up from something).
It was a long room walls lined with hanging and shelved swords, spears, daggers, bows and crossbows with arrows, katanas, gladius swords, shields, and many more of all kinds of colours, shapes, and sizes. Well, except for guns. I was relieved yet sad about that.
And another thing: the part that was supposed to hurt people on these were all silver. Like, the actual silver that Audra's was. Were they made for fighting vampires or something?
"Whoa-ho-hoa!" Ari called, striding into the room and spreading his hands. Was she sure this was a good idea? To bring Ari here? "I got dibs on this thing!"
He jogged over to a sturdy silver sword with a deep brown leather grip. He picked it up off the shelf and swung it.
Neil wandered over to a spear leaning on the wall, and picked it up, looking comfortable with it in his hands. It was up to his elbows if he stuck it straight up on the ground next to him, and it had a sharp, silver point.
"I'll take this," he said, grabbing a strap to put on is back to hold the spear. He slipped it on over his wings and slipped the spear into it.
"This looks cool!" Raina exclaimed, grabbing a pale brown bow with a silver grip and a great abundance of silver arrows. She stuck the quiver around her waist, hanging by her yellow skirt.
"You know how to use that?" River asked her.
"Yeah!" she replied, notching an arrow and aiming away from everyone. She pulled it back to her knuckles touched her nose, and she let it loose. It sliced through the air super fast and jabbed perfectly in between stones in the wall.
"Wow, I guess you do," River told her. He looked around for something to have himself.
His eyes caught on a silver dagger a slightly more triangular shape than Audra's, and a wooden smooth handle. He picked it up from the shelf and grinned.
I, myself, went for a sleek, long, sharp silver katana sword and its sheath. I picked it up the black handle and ran my thumb along the little gold metal divider between the blade and handle, noticing its upward curving shape.
Epic.
"This is mine!" I called, not looking up from it. After a moment I shrunk my wings, put the diagonal sheath on my back, grew my wings back to full size, and slid the sword into it.
