"Alright, calm down," Audra lectured, "you said it might be Power. Not it is Power."
"But what else could it be?" Neil said, "A small cloud of shiny, navy blue smokey stuff found where a Feline just died? It's gotta be Power, and if it is-"
"We need to find out if it is," I cut in. Truth is: I had no clue what I was doing. But who cares if I have a clue what I'm doing! "Let's go follow your dad! See what's actually going on!"
"We... we can't just follow someone to the Terrus's Hall! It's trespassing!" Roxy said.
"Who cares if we do?" Ari said, standing up.
"Any sane person!" Roxy argued. I stood up too.
"Thanks, Budgie Boy," I told Ari.
"You're welcome I guess."
"You guys are gonna get yourselves arrested!" Audra argued.
"Then you don't have to come," Ari explained, "if you don't wanna."
"Nope!" Audra and Roxy exclaimed in unison.
"So, us three will follow Dad while you two stay," Neil said.
We all nodded, and Ari and I followed him out of the room. We snook out the back door, and followed the figure of Keith in the distance. It was hard, since the sun had set a while ago. What time was it even? I didn't check before we left, but it was probably, like, eight or nine at night.
The three of us ended up downtown, and at a tall, marble building with a flat roof, coming off the building, covering the large steps leading up to the rotating doors. Keith went inside, and we began to land. I landed on the steps and went up.
"I'ma go peek and see if we can go in, okay?" I said.
"No, I'm going," Ari objected.
"Fine," I groaned, "only because this is a dumb thing to fight about." And I did not feel like arguing about something like that. He went up the stairs, went in through the rotating doors, and came back out two seconds later.
"Coast is clear," he announced. We followed him back up the stairs and into the building.
If I had to pick one word to describe the Terrus's Hall, I'd be torn between big and fancy.
The entire room could hold a football field (or soccer field, for you North Americans) and was full of people, none of which were Keith, luckily. It had a extremely high ceiling with a glass chandelier every ten steps, and a floor of pale gold ceramic tiles. It had tall, white, pillars with ridges that went up to the ceiling, and the walls were light grey smooth stone. There were banner-flags stationed against the wall halfway through the room.
The flags were interesting though. The poles holding them were real silver, and the background of the flag was the same colour. In the centre of the flag was a hawk's head silhouette coloured black, and there was a green laurel wreath encircling it. Above that read something in some other language. What the heck did that mean? Was it Coelumese?
In the centre of the room was a circular desk of wood with a marble counter top. It had a small plant vase on it, and lots of papers in front of the woman sitting at the desk. She looked in her early fifties, and had her hair pulled back. her name tag said her name was Lilith.
"Guys, how do we get around Lilith?" I asked in a whisper.
"Who?" Neil asked, looking around.
"The lady at the desk."
