Kisses and Confessions

When Kamri woke, she didn't wake to the sun shining down on her face or to the sound of her alarm which she'd gotten to used to hearing on Monday mornings, she woke to Layla-Mae shaking her awake.
"Kamri get up, we're going to be late!" Layla said still shaking her.
"Layla there's no school today!" Kamri said annoyed and pushed Layla's arms off of herself.
"I know that! We're meeting Dylan today!" Layla said in an annoyed tone
Kamri shot up, "That's this Monday?!"
"Yes! What other Monday do we have a public holiday on?"
"I can think of a few." Kamri said sleepily and laughed
"Spare me the details." Layla replied while rolling her eyes.
After that the two girls got ready, Kamri picked out a black crop top and jean shorts then went into the bathroom to apply some natural make-up.
When she came out again she was surprised to see Layla still looking through her clothes.
"Come on! You were the one stressing about us being late and now you're still looking for clothes to wear!"
Layla ignored her comment and went on to ask, "Is this okay?"
She was holding up a black crop too that matched Kamri's and a jean skirt.
"It's fine Layla, let's just go." Kamri said, then Layla got change quickly and the two of them walked downstairs together.
"You girls look nice." Kamri's mother, Julie said when she saw them.
"Thanks mom." Kamri said with a smile.
"Yeah, thanks Julie." Layla said, she was on a first name basis with Julie considering how long the two girls had known each other.
"Are you girls sure you're going to be fine walking to Graham's alone?" Julie asked.
"Yes mom, we'll be fine. It's only two blocks away."
"Alright, have fun you two. Love you!"
"Love you mom." Kamri replied and then both Layla and Kamri began making their way to Graham's.
It took about five minutes for the two girls to reach his house and when they did Kamri knocked on the door.
"Can you get that mom?" Graham asked and the two girls laughed at how lazy their best friend was being.
A few seconds later Cindy Verchere opened the door smiling at them both.
"You girls can come in, Graham's in his room."
"Thanks Cindy." Kamri and Layla said with a smile and then they raced each other to Graham's room.
"Ha, I beat you!" Kamri said and stuck her tongue out at Layla as they entered Graham's room.
