Mishti was engrossed in her book with such depth that she didn't even notice that Abeer had arrived at the park. He spotted her, resting her back on the tree as she pushed her glasses to rest them on her nose properly. He smiled before making his way over towards her but she still didn't look up.

He knelt down & lifted her arm so that he could rest his head in her lap; causing her to exclaim in alarm. "Abeer!"
"Mm?"
"When did you get here?" She asked & he looked up at her.
"When you were too busy reading your book" he said & she put the book down for a second, leaving her thumb on the page she had left off so that she didn't lose her spot.
"You're late, by the way" She informed him.
"I'm here though, aren't I? Which is more that can be said for you" he pointed out. "What is this book, anyway?" he asked, attempting to take it from her hand but she moved it out of the way.
"Don't you dare! I'll lose my spot"
"Fine, you read your book. I'll wait" he said getting comfortable & she smiled at him laying on her lap.
"Why did you call me here anyway?"
"I wanted us to go & get some things for our home"
"Really?" She sighed. "That's why you told Badi Maa that there was some work in the NGO & you needed me to come right away?"
"If I hadasked you to come shopping for the new house, would you have come?"
"I might have!" She said in defense & he rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, right. Don't think I didn't notice that look on your face when Naanu & Maamu came to talk to you." He said & Mishti sighed, looking down at the closed book in her hand. "They tried to get you to convince me to stay, didn't they?" He asked but she didn't say anything. "Exactly. I knew it. You're still not happy with my decision"
"Okay" She sighed. "Fine, I'm not happy with it. But if this is what you want, I'll stand by you" She said & he smiled.
"Really?" He asked & she nodded.
"Of course, Abeer. Right now, my priority is your happiness, regardless of whether I agree with it or not."
"Thank you, I appreciate that"
"Speaking of standing by you" She began, looking down at her book. Abeer raised his eyebrow, waiting for her to continue. She looked up to see him watching her. "Did you speak to Kunal?" She asked & he sighed, shaking his head.
"No."
"& your mum? Did you speak to her?"
He paused for a few moments. "No" He said finally.
"What are you doing here then?"
"Mishti-" He sighed.
"No! Off! Now!" She said moving his head so that he got it off her lap & sat up.
"Mishti, it's not that simple" He sat facing her as she gathered her things together.
"Oh really?" She looked up at him, stopping what she was doing. "Because from where I can see, it looks pretty simple." she told him. "Look Abeer, you can't fix anything until you address things with them. & the only way you're going to do that; is if you face them. Both of them" She added & he sighed.
"But they'll only try & convince me to stay, & regardless of what you say, I'm not having any of it"
"No one says you have to agree to what they say. If you want to move out, you want to move out. Simple. But at least talk things through with them."
"Yeah?" he asked & she nodded.
"Yeah, I just said, didn't I? I'll stand by you." She told him. "& anyway, the more you build things up inside; the harder it is to move on from them. Mm?"
"But I don't want to!" he complained like a child & she glared at him before getting up. "Fine" he gritted his teeth, following suit. "Can we at least go shopping first?"

"Fine." she sighed, folding her arms. "On one condition"
"What?" He raised an eyebrow, sceptical.
"This time you & I have a Pani Puri competition" She said pointing between the two of them & a grin came to his face. "& the loser has to pay for all the Pani Puri we've had, deal?"
"Deal" He said & took her hand as they began to walk through the park, towards the exit.
