i haven't been to school in two weeks my step dad found me and my mom at the grocery store
he tried to hurt us while being drunk out of his mind as usual i got hurt and ended up with a black eye and a busted lip
god i remember when he used to be a half decent person
i haven't talked or texted Gus and he hasn't texted me this girl i'm friends with her name is jade
we met one morning at school i came late and she needed a cig i decided to smoke one with her and we had a lot in common
she told me he hasn't been to our english class either
my mom has been drunk constantly and when she's not she's at work she either passed out on the couch or out with some guy so i barely ever see her
this house has been lonely lately especially with the whole step dad situation, every time i look in the mirror i'm reminded of it
every now and then i think about Gus and wonder what he's doing or if he's thinking of me
i leave my house for the first time in weeks to see my plug after i got my stuff i decided to text Gus
Me: i just met up with my plug you wanna chill for a bit?
Gus🖤: yeahh pull up to my crib bbg
me: alright dope see you in 10
i get to his house and his mom had just walked down the stairs
"hi sweetie"
she said to me
"hi um..."
"call me liza hun, Gus told me you were coming so i left the door unlocked"
"okay thanks liza"
she smiled then got in her car and drove away

i was sitting in the kitchen eating and writing songs then my mom comes rushing down stairs
"Peep honey i'm going to work tonight, i don't want you going out tonight and i'm working late so no parties okay stay home please"
my mom says as she grabs her bag and keys of the kitchen table
"okay i won't but i was wondering if Ru can come over?"
"oh well if course she can, you know i actually really like her and i think you do too"
she says smiling
"mom!"
i said a little embarrassed earlier today i finally came to the conclusion that i like Ruby
but i have to be careful because if things end up like how they did last time it's not gunna look pretty for me
