                         Nagala-Chapter 5: Chores.

"How do you plan on doing my chores until my leg and ankle heal?" Abigail asked as she sat at the table. Her green eyes watched Rov do the dishes with his paper-white hands, amazed at how he could keep that cloak and hood on the entire time. "My parents would freak out if they found some stranger in the house especially if they thought you were trespassing; they'd scold me for secretly getting a friend or a boyfriend and would put you in jail." Adding to her words, the thought of a boyfriend caused her cheeks to turn red. Rov shook his head without even averting his attention from the dishes.

"I'll just tell them that the private tutor you once had, died and I was to replace them. Then if they don't believe me, I'll just say I have to stay in darkness since my skin is allergic to the sun's rays. Saying that, would also explain my pale complexion. I'll write a professional notice and I'll need you to design the perfect font on the front of the letter to make it more convincing." Rov's lowered voice expressed the quiet side of him and his words surprised her.

Her eyes widened and her mouth went agape, she couldn't believe he was wanting to trick her parents. Bad enough they didn't believe her before, now she really has to lie to make sure he can stay here. Most of the time when a private tutor comes over to teach her, they'd leave after payment when her parents were done with them.

"The attic..." she trailed off before continuing. "It's the best place for you to hide when you have to leave after you get paid for tutoring me. So with that payment, how're you going to handle the money?" she asked.

Rov remained quiet for a moment, then started rinsing the dishes off and placing them on the rack to his side. "I'd have to climb through the window into the attic, as long as you keep it open and never lock it. That'd be the only way this could be pulled off. When your parents aren't around or looking for you, I'll come down and do those chores. The money will have to be hidden somewhere in the attic," he said in his lowered tone.

Abigail just nodded and looked down at her bandaged leg. The pant leg was rolled up, why? Because Rov wanted to keep an eye on it. I don't really like the idea of my parents being tricked, how am I supposed to tell him that? I'm so worried, he might get thrown out and arrested for false identity! Then I would get pinned with blame and possibly get arrested for helping him! She was too caught up in her thoughts, to even see him leaning against the counter with crossed arms. He was staring at her troubled expression and his frown grew with concern for her.

"What's wrong?" His question made her flinch slightly and look over at him with worried features.

"Nothing...  It's nothing. Don't worry," she replied. That was a lie and he knew it. So instead of pushing further to make her talk, he had to work around it to find his answer. Throughout the time he has watched her from the shadows and tried to protect her in his body-less state, he knew better than to believe it wasn't something to worry about. Just hearing her say that worried him even more.

"As I said, I'll hide the money somewhere up in the attic; so in case you need something and your parents won't get it, I'll go out and get it myself," he stated and watched her reaction, yet there was none and thus he continued. "I'll keep as quiet as possible. You made me a quiet person from the beginning, so staying quiet up in the attic would be no problem for me." Still nothing, just a simple nod from her, but that didn't ease the worried look on her face. "I know it goes against the law to act like someone else and to use a fake job to stay close but, I promise you... They won't arrest me. Yes, it'd look like I'm using a fake job to get money but in reality, I'm not. Don't worry, they won't know where I'm staying or if I'm lying or not. If I know your parents well enough just by following you around in my body-less state, then they'd believe a stranger posing as a tutor more than their daughter." Now that made her expression change, going from worried to surprised.
