                    Nagala-Chapter 3: Mysterious voices.

Sitting at the rotted desk, Abigail was drawing Rov again, and this time she's made him look ten times better than before. Rather I was too tired last night or I was losing my mind, either way...I'm happy I heard that voice. If it wasn't for that strange voice or...whisper, I wouldn't be here right now. She stated in her head and a small smile graced her lips at the thought.

"Abigail, come here!" Her mom's voice yelled and made the girl freeze amid her pencil strokes. She was wearing that same black jacket and some gray pants, with a white loose shirt. Her groan was evident when she let her pencil hit her desk and leaned back in her chair. The seat she was in scooted back a bit, then her leg rose slightly so she could see it. Quickly, she lifted her pant leg and saw a giant black and blue bruise all around her knee. "Man, walking around all day made it worse. I really need to get this looked at. I don't think a simple cut should do this to someone's knee," she said. Her knee was wrapped up in a beige bandage but her knee looked swollen and nasty. "This is gonna suck..." she groaned again and tried standing. She was still in agony and the pain hadn't even eased up since yesterday.

Limping her way out of her room, the scene showed Rov's picture for just a moment before changing back to Abigail. She was being careful not to hurt her leg, with each step she took down the stairs. "Hurry up, I have to leave soon!" She heard her mother call out again and Abigail was already breathing hard from all the climbing.

"I'm coming!" The girl's voice hollered out, as she held on to the railing. It was painful but, she managed. She opened the kitchen door and saw them standing there all dressed up for work. "I'm he-" Before she could even respond, her mom instantly spoke up as if impatience was getting the better of her.

"Your dad and I are going to drive together. He's going to drop me off at the mall and he's going to go to work right after. I need you to go downtown and get a few things while we're out. I'm low on oil and gas, so I need you to go buy some for me while we're gone." Her mother explained without even glancing at her daughter and was digging through her purse. She pulled out her wallet and put the right amount of money on the table. "This will be enough and don't you dare think about spending what's left over on anything else got it?!" she angrily stated and walked past her whilst stuffing her wallet back into her purse.

Her dad was right behind her mom and he brushed past his daughter with a short sentence. "Don't forget to sweep the dead leaves, off the concrete outside," That was all he said, before leaving the poor girl to herself.

"Dad...I... I don't know if I can get the oil, and gas and sweep the leaves off," Abigail was a bit timid at first for saying that because she knew what was to come...

Both parents stopped at their pace, turned around, and gave a furious look. "Excuses aren't going to save you from chores!" Her mom stated with a scowl and tapped her foot.

"It's not an excuse, look!" Abigail raised her voice and lifted her pant leg, exposing that black and blue, bruising around her cut knee.

"I bet you did that just to get out of your chores!" her mom spoke angrily once more and her dad just shook his head.

"Come on dear, she'll just have to be grounded for making an excuse. We're gonna be late, let's go." Her dad patted her mom's shoulder and soon they both walked down the main staircase. Abigail was left there wide-eyed and mouth agape, she couldn't believe that not even her bad knee would convince them. She clenched her fists and lowered her head, making those dark brown locks brush past her face.
