Tissues covered the floor of your room, pillows were thrown around, a glass was shattered on the floor. You had been together for almost two years.. why now? What did you do wrong? Negative thoughts flooded your brain as you let out another loud sob. If anyone saw you like this right now, you'd die, you knew how gross you looked. Your boyfriend had just dumped you, revealing he had feelings for another girl.

You were devastated, you didn't think anything could make up happy again.

Suddenly your phone started to buzz, someone was calling. You picked your head up and tried to blow your nose before answering, not really wanting to let whoever it was know you were crying.

"Hello?" Your voice came out softer than expected, you'd probably lose it for the next few days if you carried on like this.

"Hey y/n," a familiar voice rang out through the other end. Your best friend Sanemi. "I heard about what happened.. I'm sorry."

He heard,How did he know already? Your lip started to curl as you felt tears welling up again. "H-how did you know?"

"Oh uhm.." his voice got softer as he heard the pain in your voice. "You're uh, ex kinda isn't staying quiet on socials."

"Oh that's fan-fucking-tastic." You placed your phone next to and put him on speaker.

"I don't want to bother you, but do you need someone right now?"

You pondered.. do you really want someone to see you like this? But do you also want to be alone? Not really. "It'd mean a lot if you came over, even if it's just for a little bit."

"Of course.. I'll be there in a few minutes."

Some time had passed and you've finally calmed down to a somewhat approachable level, still sniffling and having stray tears fall down your cheeks. You heard a knock at your door and slowly walked to open it, revealing a tired looking Sanemi holding a plastic shopping bag.

"What's in that?" You turned to the side to let him in.

"I brought you some water and chocolates." He huffed and walked to your living room, thank god he didn't turn into your room, you still didn't clean up in there. "Are you alright?"

"Not really," you shrugged and plopped down onto the couch, slinging a blanket over your shoulders."I don't think I'll be okay for a few days, but I'll bounce back eventually."

"That's what I want to hear." He handed you a bottle of water then tossed a Hershey bar your way. "Take a bite, you'll feel a little better."

You half-smiled and followed his instructions.

Sanemi has a hard looking exterior but in reality is a huge softie, at least to you. Most people are afraid of him or just find him intimidating. Today however seems like an exception, even thought he is usual a nice person he seemed... overly sweet. Even though you were best friends he didn't like, buy you stuff and you didn't expect that to change.

It's been silent for  while now so you cleared your throat. "Nemi.. do you think looking back, it was obvious he lost feelings for me? Do you think I was just too heads-over-heels to notice?"

"I just think he was a fuck-head who didn't deserve you."

"Sanemi.."

"Fine.. I do think you missed a red flag or two but it's not like anyone could have known he'd up and dump you for another girl.. I don't even think his friends expected."

As much as you wanted to cry, you couldn't, you were thankful your best friend was there to cheer you up and be honest with you."I'm thankful you're honest with me, I wish more people were like you."

A light blush crept across his face and he didn't answer.

Little did you know his heart felt like it was gonna burst. Whenever he's around you his chest feels all warm and beats faster than he thought was possible. So seeing you broken and hurt by someone else infuriated him.. He didn't know what the feelings he felt were but he knew he couldn't tell you about them or at least he didn't have the courage to, and that didn't want to ever see you like this, again. Maybe one day, when you both feel ready, he'll say it with his chest but for now.. He's going to focus on helping you mend your heart.
