The pic on the side is Mason.

The waves splash against me and I paddle against them. I wait till I huge one comes and I stand up on my board. I crash through it, speeding around the water on my surfboard.

Friday, next Friday. It's September 24th. We've won two softball games since that damn fight. One of them was today. Bear is at the vet getting neutered and I'm surfing.

I won't speak to Mason or Alyssa.

Whatever. I don't need them.

I fall off of my board and get right back on. I've been going at it for a few hours now and I'm getting tired. I head to shore. The sun is setting so it's getting closer to shark time.

I head home and drop off my board. I shower and put on a gray sweater and shorts and black converse and then I head back to the beach. I walk instead, and I walk over to the rocks and start to climb them until I'm up on top, ten or fifteen feet off of the ground. I sit there and people watch, humming random songs.

When the sun is fully gone, I get some pizza and go back to my spot.

Around eight a lot of people are here for parties now. I sigh and hop down.

I start to walk for the road, but someone taps my shoulder. I spin around to meet Mason's night blue eyes. He doesn't have Stella with him.

"I know you kind of hate me and I'm supposed to be leaving you alone, but...do you want a ride?"

I raise my eyebrows. "I'm fine. My house isn't far."

"Please?" he whispers. He laughs softly and runs his fingers through his hair. "Look," He says. "I understand that I really upset you, but please give me a chance? I'm not who I seem to be."

I stare into his eyes for a long time. "Alright." I sigh. "One chance."

"Awesome." He grins. "So do you want a ride?"

"No, I'm really good." I say.

"Okay." He sighs.

"I'll see you Monday." I smile and walk away.

________________

I walk into the lunchroom today to see Mason leaning against the wall with his cronies, Chase and Hale.

Alyssa is sitting alone. I'm sick and tired of us not talking. She's avoiding as at all costs.

Not to mention that I'm on my period so I'm in a bad mood in general and I'm out of fucking Nutella.

I go storming across the cafeteria and I slam my backpack down on the table as hard as I can. the sound echoes and everyone looks at us and quiets down. I knocked her milk over and it spilt all over her. I'll help her after I've given her a piece of my mind.

"Would you stop fucking avoiding me? It's pissing me off. I didn't do anything! I told Mason he can have a chance! Stop fucking ignoring me. I can't stand it! God!"

I'm in a loose gray t-shirt and white shredded shorts and red converse. My hair is curled. Both hands are on the table in the milk. She looks down at her splatted clothes, the mess on the table, and then up at me.

And then she starts laughing.

She's laughing?

I slap her and she shuts right up.

I'm normally the nice one that breaks up the fights. The whole place is dead silent.

"Are you out of Nutella again?" she asks me. "I bet you're on your period."
