MELODY'S POV

I slept the whole rest of the school day, and then I walked home, took Bear out, and then I stripped naked and climbed in bed and went right back to sleep.

I'm kind of nervous to go into ISS today. I know Mason held me yesterday, and I also know when I started to fall asleep in his arms and he put me down, I was sad.

Sighing, I walk into the room.

"You don't look like shit today!" Lauren grins. I flip her off and sit down.

"Are you okay now? You know, because dick doesn't only mean penis?" Chase teases. I smack the back of his head as hard as I can. The noise echo's. "Holy shit! You have an arm on you!"

"No dip, Sherlock. She's pitcher. She split a wooden bat in two." Mason rolls his eyes.

I sit down and just as I'm reaching for my phone, Mrs. Jackson walks in.

Luckily the teacher is awake right now, watching us to make sure we're not doing drugs.

Luckily for me, last night, Mom and Dad said I've been good so I'm grounded only until I get out of ISS.

"I'll be taking over for Mr. Ferril today." She says.

The teacher gets up and leaves and she sits in his seat.

"No talking. No eating. No sleeping. No electronics. You are to sit here all day long and not speak."

Bitch.

I sit here, irritated.

This bitch won't even let us sleep?

"Ma'am?" Kyle raises his hand.

"What?" she asks.

"How is this educational? Two weeks is a long time of taking away out education."

She purses her lips. "Stay quiet."

"No ma'am. I have a voice, see. God gave it to me and I'm supposed to use it. How is this educational?"

"Quiet." She hisses, her eyes searching the room. Her gaze locks on me. "Miss Jane, why are you in here?"

"You put me in here." I say.

"Yes, but what did you do?"

"I skipped school and when you caught us, we ran."

She nods slowly. "And who was that?"

"Me, Alyssa, Mason, Chase, and Hale."

She's quiet for a long time, tapping her fingers on her desk.

"You made history at our high school. You split a bat right in two, correct?"

"Yeah." I say.

She sighs. "When you were skipping school, where were you going?"

Lie! Lie! Lie! My mind screams.

"The city library." I say sweetly. I have good grades and I never really cause trouble. "I had left my economics textbook there the night before, ma'am. They friends were coming with me so they could get books."

She totally falls for it. "Well I suppose that is academic. You guys can get out of here. Go back to your regular classes."

"All of us?" I ask.

"Everyone except for Cole." She says.

"Thank you, ma'am." I smile sweetly and stand up, grabbing my stuff.

All of us leave except or Cole.

"Yes! I'm ungrounded!" Alyssa punches the air. "My parents switched it last night so I can get out when I'm out of ISS!"
