"Are things getting serious now? Would you like to keep dating him?" Mercia asked her.
Mermista smiled and nodded. Her cheeks felt very warm now. Her father chuckled to himself. "I'm falling in love with him."
King Mercia's heart sank a little. His daughter was a beautiful teenager with a boyfriend. He did approve of the dating, but he wanted to take it back. Her heart was being taken for a ride. Was it a good one or a bad one?
He wanted so badly to tell her to stop seeing Sebastian, but if he did would he begin losing her?
"When he kisses me, daddy, it makes me feel so . . . protected. Being with a guy like him is what I've dreamed of since I was eleven." She stopped and put her hands on her fathers. "I'm lucky to have him in my life."
Now King Mercia felt a deeper ache of losing her to him. "You are my life, Mermista. I love you more than any man ever will."
"Daddy, I know and I love you too. I want what you had with mom. I think I'm getting it now. Maybe he is my soul mate. I'm not saying he is, but he could be. I'm also keeping in mind that he could be faking all of it too."
He liked that she was aware of her senses and situation.

"He's good to you? He treats you the way you deserve so far?" King Mercia asked, eyebrows raised.
Mermista took her hands off his. "So far so good. We still have so much to talk about. I haven't told him about mom yet."
Mercia's face turned angry. "If I ever catch those pirates that did that to her . . ." He clenched his jaw tight.
"You'll kill them I know." Mermista said, wanting revenge as well. She needed something sweet. Getting up she walked to the fridge. "Want ice cream?"
"I'm not hungry. Thank you for asking." He said, now standing. "I'm going to bed." He kissed her on the head.
She knew it was early, but also knew he constantly worried about her. "Sleep well."
Mermista saw there wasn't much left of the chocolate so she took the carton and a spoon to her room. She wished so much that Sebastian was here with her. It annoyed her so much that they couldn't cuddle right now.

Two days later, I was running a bit late. I'd overslept because I'd hit the snooze button too many times. I walked past Dock 6 going to 7 when I heard something. I had to lay down on the dock to see. In the water I saw Marika and Jordan making out.
"You might wanna keep it down. If I can hear you others can too."
They flushed pink together and started laughing.
"I need you up here in ten, Jordan." I said and laughed as I walked to Dock 7. Moe, Paulie and Mikey were staring at me.
"Talking to your girlfriend?" Moe asked curiously.
I shook my head. "Nope. Jordan and Marika are together. It's supposed to be a secret." I held up a finger to my lips. "Shhh. . ."
We all laughed together.
"Why does he want to keep it a secret?" Paulie asked.
"Her mother doesn't like pirates or men associated with them. Same thing with King Mercia, but I won him over . . . for now." I told him.

Mikey saw Jordan first and told Paulie to fake making out with him. They did and Jordan clapped his hands. "Wow, thanks. Nice show boy's."
