Meranda smiled to herself. Maybe Russett had changed his heart and mind about her. "Marika, I think these are from Russ!"

"Is there a card?" Jordan asked looking at the lovely flowers.

Marika leaned back and looked down to her sister. "You really think that jerk knows what flowers you like?"

A frown came to Meranda's face. There was no card. Who else knew what flowers she liked? All that came to mind was her family.

Meranda stood up. "Did you send them to me?" She asked looking at Marika. "Mermista, did you?"

"Why are you being mean?" Marika said, they made you happy.

"Yeah until I found out they're from you." Meranda said angrily.

Mikey couldn't take the fighting. He stood up and said, "They're from me, Meranda."

The table made random teasing sounds.

Meranda's face was priceless. She stared at Mikey.

"I never found out what flowers you liked. I asked your sister at the bar." He told her.

"Oh . . . " She sighed and gave him a not so happy smile. "Thank you." She was nervous now. The table was strangely quiet. Her gold-copper eyes looked into his blue ones. She looked at his face, his stance and clothing. He was a really nice guy. There was only one problem he was a pirate.

Mikey nervously started to ramble. "I'm sorry I never found out what kind of flowers you like. I do know you love the smell of coconut. I know you love anything lemon flavored. You can't stand banana's. The smell of heavy colgone or perfume on people makes you gag."

Meranda held up her hands. "Okay, please, Mikey, just stop."

Mermista whispered to Marika. "That's so sweet." Marika looked at her with a smile and nodded her head.

"You actually listened to me?" Meranda asked, feeling weird. She walked over and grabbed his arm. She wanted to talk to him alone. They were near the bathroom's now. "It's really cool of you to know those things about me. Thank you for being a good friend."

Mikey smiled like he had a chance. "Meranda, would you,"

She cut him off. "Mikey, I'm really sorry, but I don't date pirates." Her face was full of remorse, but it was her rule. "You probably know this already," She began. "Pirates use to hunt us for fun and just for the thrill of a kill. It's been a law for a long time if any net catches us they must let us go or they get thrown in jail." She looked over at the table and at Mermista. And she was flirting with her boyfriend. "Pirates are the reason Mermista lost her mother."

This Mikey knew, but didn't say anything.

Mikey looked her in the eyes, "I really care about you."

Meranda nodded. "Thank you. I care for you as a friend." She said and turned to go back to the table. She neared the table and Jordan got up to go to the bathroom. Jordan passed her and Meranda took his seat.

I was telling a tale from last year, "And that's how I won the GaleBreath Gauntlet in 20 klicks last Spring."

"Impressive." Mermista said and kissed my cheek.

Mikey had sat back down, but he got back up and headed for the bar. "Zikri, can I get something to numb my heart. I don't wanna feeling anything."
