Dear Lisa,
Merry Christmas Eve! How had your year been so far? It's odd, it seems as though it went by so fast, and now it's almost over.
Yeah yeah, Christmas is great, we all know. But, the main reason I'm writing you this is to tell you the "long awaited" news. Bad news. It's not going to be easy. On either of us - you just have to read on though.
I was sick. Well, I thought I was. It got worse and worse until I finally went to the doctor, where they told me it was more than just a cold. Turns out, I have a cancer tumor in my left lung. It's spreading fast, and they don't know how long I'll last.
Sorry for making it seem as though it was no big deal.
