As if Buck's life couldn't get any worse, Chimney had just informed him of Maddie getting herself into trouble. Maddie has inserted herself into the life of a woman who called 911 a couple weeks ago. Maddie believes this woman's husband is abusing her. Maddie is making a dangerous mistake trying to intervene. If this lady's husband is abusive, what's to stop him from going after Maddie?
Buck worried. He did not need this little bit of extra food on his plate. He was still trying to recover from his accident and the tsunami. He just wanted everything in his life to stop and go back where it came from.
Just thinking about the situation Maddie put herself in made Buck feel sick. He needed to talk to her and get her to stop. He called Bobby and told him that he'd be late today. He drove over to Maddies, and invited himself in. "Hey Maddie, you here?"
"Yeah. What are you doing here?"
"Chimney told me about your little plan of trying to help this woman in an abusive relationship."
"And what? You came to talk me out of it?"
"Well yeah. I'm not gonna let you get yourself hurt, or worse."
"Of course. Because I can't take care of myself?"
"I'm not saying that. All I'm saying is if this dude is dangerous he could go after you."
"Well don't worry. Linda found out, and now I'm suspended for a couple weeks until I go to a counselor."
"That'd be good for you."
"Look who's talking."
"What at do you mean?"
"Oh like you didn't think Chimney would tell me about your little breakdown."
"That was one day. I'm fine."
"Sure."
"Well it was nice talking to you, but I've got to head to work." Buck said storming out. Bobby was informed that Buck would be late, so Buck took his time going to work. He felt like he was in the verge of another breakdown, so he took the long way to work, so he could have time to clear his head.
When he got to work, his team was surrounding someone. He couldn't tell who it was first. It was some brunette chick. When he finally made it to the group, and this chick turned around, he suddenly felt hot, and in the verge of passing out. It was Abby. Last he heard from her she was somewhere across the world. She was back, and had died her hair, apparently. He didn't know why seeing her was making him feel the way he was. He felt angry that she had left him the way she did. He felt sad remembering how lonely he felt when she kept extending her "Eat. Pray. Love" experience. He felt weird about her coming back into his life now after everything he's been through.
After being frozen for a minute after she turned around and said hi, Buck ran out of the fire house. He knew if he'd open his mouth all that would come out was things that would hurt her. He knew that he'd start yelling at her for leaving him, and he didn't want to hurt her. That was the last thing he wanted. He would feel guilty if he yelled and that was just one more thing to add to his plate. He found himself in his car after a couple minutes, and he wanted to drive home. Something deep down inside him told him it was a mistake, but he didn't listen.
He was on his way home when he saw multiple police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances passing by. He followed them cause he was curious to see what was going on. He followed them through a familiar neighborhood, all the way to a familiar house. Bucks hurt never sunk quicker, it was already in his stomach before he could stop the car. He got out, and noticed Athena. "Athena! What's going on? What happened?"
"We don't know yet, but you shouldn't go in there." Of course he didn't listen. He ran in and the image horrified him. There laying in a deep, wide pool of blood, was his older sister, "Maddie?" Buck was confused. He didn't think it could really be her, but he ran over to her, and she wasn't breathing nor did she have a pulse. He started compression and gave her CPR. Athena gave him a couple minutes before telling him, "it's too late."
"No. There's no way this is really happening. This must be another nightmare. I'm dreaming, and I need to wake up." Buck sounded crazy as he kept on going on about how he's wake up in a couple minutes, but when he didn't he could only say, "I think you meant to say I was too late."

A/N: I really didn't hold any punches back this chapter, so I'm sorry if anyone feels like one of my punches is gonna leave a mark.
I mean on the bright side, this is the longest chapter, of has 800 words! 😃
