Just a day after losing his sister, Buck sat there in her normal spot at the 9-1-1 station. She had been the one to call 9-1-1, and she had left a message for Buck. Josh sat down next to him, he had tears in his eyes as he asked if Buck was ready. Buck hesitantly said he was. Josh pushed play and the audio started.
"9-1-1 what's your emergency?"
"My name is Maddie Buckley, I'm a dispatcher. I've been stabbed. Vincent did this. Linda knows who I'm talking about. I need you to show this audio to Chimney, and my brother Evan. Chimney, I loved you from the moment you came into my life, and I want you to know that you'll be okay without me. Please don't hold back because of this. Evan, I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I didn't mean it. You were right this guy was dangerous and I got myself hurt. I love you Evan, please don't beat yourself up for this." She stopped talking and the dispatcher who answered couldn't get her to respond.
Buck listened to it, and he heard it, but he doesn't think he can actually listen to his sisters words. He can't just accept her death like that. This was his fault. He wasn't there to save her, just like he wasn't there to save Kiara, and wasn't there to protect Chris in the tsunami. He's a firefighter, he's supposed to save lives, but all he's been doing is letting the people he loves down. He thanked Josh and headed to work.
Upon his arrival at work, his team was already protesting him coming back too soon. Chimney was still taking time off, so they felt he definitely should. Buck angrily told them they was wrong, and headed to the locker room. He changed, and then sat and stared into space waiting for them to get a call. Through their shift, they only had 3 minor calls.
When Buck arrived at his house, Abby was waiting for him. He ignored her, but she invited herself in. She was taking but he had entirely too much on his mind to hear whatever she had to say. "Buck, I'm so sorry. But I want you to know that you can trust me."
"Like I would ever trust you again. You remember how you promised me you'd come back in a couple months, but you didn't. I waited for you for a whole year. I kept thinking 'oh she'll be back home soon' and I was always, always wrong. After three months I felt so alone, but I didn't want to beg you to come back, I knew you needed a break. Then more and more months passed and you didn't come back home, you didn't come back to me. After you were gone a year, it took me weeks to realized that whatever we had was gone." Buck was almost yelling and Abby was crying. Buck was about to say something else when rain started pouring down. It sounded like rushing water, and suddenly Buck was back in that water, desperate to find Christopher.
Abby watched in terror as Buck started walking back towards to the wall, breathing heavily, and looking absolutely terrified. He made it to the closest wall, and sunk down, and he wept. Abby went to hold him, and noticed how badly he was shaking. She excused herself for a minute, and went to call Bobby and his team.

A/N: sorry for the long wait. I assure you next chapter will be up very soon!
