As the CCC, lead by Hailey, continued their efforts against the gangsters from other families, the helicopters above called for extra support. Now, two of the other headquarters sent cars filled with armed soldiers to the house. The gangsters knew the battle would be coming to an end soon, and so they didn't want to risk losing more of their members. Some people came to the site of the battle after hearing all the gunshots, but were told to leave by CCC guards at the front. Overall, the battle on the lower levels was not close to done.
Upstairs, in the back office room, Leader and Dante were locked in combat. They had been using their skills in martial arts to take each other down, put each other in locks, and disarm each other when they would take out weapons, but even after over 12 minutes of straight fighting, the two were nowhere near tired. As they kicked each other to opposite ends of the room, Dante pulled a switchblade from his utility belt, and charged at Leader. Leader disarmed him, but Dante managed to get off a swing at Leader's face, slicing his mask before he could dodge it. Off came his black mask, and revealed was a large scar over his lip, and down onto his chin. Now angry, Leader put Dante's arm in a lock, preparing to break it. He went in but Dante jumped down, and did a kick to Leaders side, pushing him off the arm. The fight continued like this for a while longer.
"It's obvious your combat training goes well beyond just a mobster. You've at least had some experience in a warzone or at least in military training. Am I right?" Dante said as he got into a fighting stance.
"Yeah, you're right. I was in the Great War, in the 14th American Battalion. I fought in China and Canada. Was even there during the Quebecois Terrorist Attacks of '41. Saw some of the buildings go down myself." Leader said, still with the same deadly aura. Dante's eyes widened.
"You were in the 14th Battalion?!" He said with great surprise in his voice. Leader was confused at what he found so shocking. However, he didn't let it get to him, and their fighting continued.
Eventually he pinned Dante down. "You're not too bad yourself. What did you serve in?" Leader asked. Dante got even more angry, shrimping out of the pin and punching Leader.
"I have no reason to give you that info, scumbag." Dante said in a more sassy manner than angry one. Leader was almost amused.
"Really? Why? Did you lost that bad? What were you, from the 17th Battalion?" Leader said as he began chuckling. Dante, however, did not laugh, and in fact looked almost saddened by the comment. Leader could tell the pain in his eyes, and realized the truth.
"Oh my God, you were really in the 17th Battalion? How did you survive? I heard there was only two survivors, and one wa-" Just then, he realized a large scar on the side of Dante's head. He realized, this truly was who Leader thought; the commander of the 17th Battalion, and the man who took down 7 enemy soldiers alone to protect the other last surviving member.
"Yes, I am Lieutenant Colonel Dante Gerrude, colonel of the Death Battalion." He was looking Leader right in the eyes, and Leader was for once actually a bit afraid. "The man that I saved, was an ECSU member. But he's dead now, all thanks to your brother." Just as Dante finished this sentence, he pulled out one last weapon; a grenade. He was planning on going down with Leader, who he now understood was from what was called the "royalty platoon" for it's incredible might and heavily awarded and respected members.
Dante sprinted at Leader, prepared to press the advanced grenade's button but just as he got near Leader he dropped down and spin-kicked Dante in the leg, dropping him and making him unable to press the button. Then Leader pushed the grenade out of the way and in barely a second, he got up and pulled out his last weapon, a silenced pistol, and pointed it at Dante's head, who was laid out flat on the floor. Here, the two veterans knew the fight was over.
