"Do you have feelings for JK?"
It wasn't the first time she has heard that question or debated it to herself. Did she have feelings for JK? She did spend all that time locked up in her room studying just to come back to Korea where he was. But did she like him in that sense that the person asking the question meant? Of course, she liked him. He was her best friend but now he's just a nightmare she wished she never met. Contemplating the question, Yerim soon realized as to why Taehyung had asked that question. She snapped out of her reverie and shook her head.
"No. I don't like JK in any sense of that word."
"Well, if you keep staring at him your actions may speak otherwise." spoke the other boy with them.
She knew it was the wrong decision to agree to eat with Taehyung and Jimin after her shift at work. They took her to their favorite street vendor which happened to overlook the park that JK and his goons seemed to call their own. She watched JK under scrutinizing eyes as he acted his part well of being a total prick. She applauded his performance and then rolled her eyes when his friends went to buy drinks and he played with a lonely little boy. He has truly turned into a piece of work. One minute he was a douche and the next he was the Jungkook she knew. Yet never would she make the mistake of calling him Jungkook again. Since that day, three days ago, all he would do is send glares her way whenever they would cross paths. Other than his glares and Mingyu's constant idiotic words thrown at her, she was surviving school fairly well. Saeron, Mina, and Mark were always with her and at lunch. She wasn't alone. By the end of the week Jaehyun had found her by her locker and greeted her with a smile. Something about him being the same relieved her and made her happy. Not that she would brag about it due to all the glares the female population would throw at her when they saw their interaction.
Sometimes, when she wanted to be alone, she would find SinB talking to her. She was kind and Yerim wasn't surprised to hear that maybe she and JK weren't just a rumor but fact. Though personally, if ever asked, Yerim thought SinB could do better.
Yerim was still bitter on how JK's mother had even told her to stay away. In not so many words, Yerim was told to back off or charges would be pressed. Her only banter back to Mrs. Jeon-where she actually yelled at the older woman in her annoyance before auntie Kim came home and caught the last bit-was that she didn't want anything to do with her good for nothing son and if they ever interacted it would be purely due to him and his friends. Yerim had ran up the stairs, no longer hungry and cried herself to sleep. She never knew she would find comfort in Taehyung coming in to say some lame jokes and just keep her company until Joy came home. When Joy came back from her date, she heard what happened from Taehyung (they spoke in the doorway in hushed voices) and stayed the night over with her.
"Doesn't he confuse you?" Yerim decided to stop watching JK's kind actions and turned to her friends.
"Who? JK? Nah, he's just like the rest of us. One way in front of others and different in front other people. I mean, you can't say you're the same with teachers as you are with us." Jimin said with his mouth half full.
