I should write
A happy poem
Filled with sunshine
And smiles.
To remind you
That life
Is always worthwhile.
And we all should
Smile more,
Even in the midst
Of our sadness.
We can fake it
All the way
Through the madness.
I should write
A joyful poem!
Nevermind
That I'm numb.
You said
"Your songs
Are too sad
And your words
Are too dumb."
So here's a poem
For you:
Smile
Through your tears.
Smile
Through your fears.
And write a happy poem
As your world crashes down.
Make sure to smile,
Wipe away that frown.
Sadness is nothing if you write it away!
So write your poems,
Write your songs.
Forget the heartbreak,
Forget your wrongs.
Ignore all your pain,
And you write a happy poem.
Keep writing all the way
To your last fucking day.
As all that buried pain,
Just brings you an early grave.
