Chapter 1

 "Is this the end?" Shikikan asked himself, he opens his eyes looks at the small ray of sun light approaching him through the water, small bubbles escape his lips and disappear in the ocean.

"I may as well go with the flow" Shikikan thinks to himself and closes his eyes.

"Wake up"

Shikikan: Who could that be? Mermaid? Or maybe God.... I would love to meet God.

Shikikan opens his eyes in anticipation and a little excitement. He opens his eyes and looks at the beautiful girl bending over him. Shikikan found himself lying in a hospital bed, he looks around the room trying to assess the situation.

"Good morning." The girl wearing a nurse's cap said to him in a very sweet voice.

"My name is Vestal."

Shikikan: Good morning Vestal.

Shikikan smiles back at her.

Vestal brings Shikikan a tray with Tea and biscuits.

Vestal: Have some tea and biscuits, we will have to dress you up, you are about to be visited by someone very important.

Shikikan: Is that important person God ?

Vestal looks at Shikikan surprised and concerned. Shikikan looks at Vestal smiling. And says.

Shikikan: Its alright, I know I am dead, and this is..... afterlife or maybe before between afterlife and death. But I know I am dead.

Vestal: No, no you are not, we....we rescued you. You have been in coma.

Shikikan burst into laughter after hearing vestal.

Shikikan: Coma you say? Miss, I was in the ship that exploded into pieces. Literally my body would have been disintegrated into so many parts that even Davy Jones couldn't have found my body to store in his locker.

Vestal keeps looking at Shikikan with disbelief.

Shikikan: Miss Vestal, I have no regrets in life, I served my country, I did what I thought was right, what my convictions deemed right, I protected my sailors and allies even though I had to take lives for it. If I deserve punishment for the sins I have committed, I still have no regret.

"Spoken like a true leader" proclaimed an old man's voice.

Shikikan looked at the old man who spoke, and couldn't contain his happiness.

Shikikan: Admiral Chester W.Nimitz!

Nimitz: I heard about you, There is a lot we need to discuss. Miss Vestal can I borrow this young officer for a few moment.

Vestal: Of course Admiral. I'll take this tray with me. And commander, your not dead, you might be dead in the old world of yours, but you still are alive in this one.

Saying this Vestal left Shikikan with Admiral alone in the room. Admiral walked to the window and looked out of it.

Nimitz: There are some things I want to ask you. Even though you would have more things to ask me. But I want you to bear with me.

Shikikan now stood up beside Admiral, looking at the sea through the window. The Light blue skies met the ocean blue water at the horizon and the golden sand of the beach, shinning under the sun.

Shikikan: Its beautiful.

Nimitz: Indeed it is. Tell me Commander, how much do you love the seas.
