Janson had returned before the three could respond, but Charlotte could tell by their glances that they were on board with the plan, her as well. More people were filing into the room, and she turned to see loose fitting green suits with W.I.C.K.E.D. scribbled across the chest. She breathed in sharply, automatically taking a step closer to Thomas, who was next to her. He put a reassuring hand on her arm, and she turned back with wide eyes to see him send a quick smile her way. Her glance flicked to Newt, who was staring at the hand on her arm. She rolled her eyes and turned back to face the sage suited people. They each walked next to a bed, fidgeting with the masks that hung from the ceiling, adjusting the tubes, tinkering with knobs and switches that she couldn't see.

"We've already assigned each of you a bed." Janson explained, gazing at a clipboard within his clutch, "Those staying in this room are. . ." He rattled off a few names, and she lowered her gaze to the wall, not paying attention. "And Charlotte."

Her head snapped up to meet eyes with the second in command, and her eyes widened as she pursed her lips. None of her friends were called, only her.

"Nope, we stick together." Minho quickly announced while walking behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder, "She stays with us."

"No can do." Janson said, "I'm afraid that this is one of the things that I cannot budge on, this is mandatory. So sorry, but please go to bed seven and make your decision there, Lottie."

Charlotte tilted her head slightly to the side, anger flooding her veins. The last time he called her that, she couldn't help but make a comment, and he kicked her in the stomach. She despised the nickname, and the way he said it only sent shivers down her spine. Lord give me strength.

"Lottie?" Newt suddenly echoed with disgust, "Her name is Charlotte to you, Rat Man."

Internally, the girl smiled. Newt was never particularly protective, but that was because everyone knew that they were together and were friends with him. Here, only the people who monitored them know. And he was here to defend her.

"Do I seriously have to call security to go over there and force you to come?" Janson called, aggravated. She sighed and shimmied out of Minho's grasp, turning to him, "Stay safe."

"You're going?" He asked, and she nodded, "Our plan is to play along, that's what we have to do. Hopefully I'll see you soon." With that, she turned to Newt and Thomas, nodding to the two of them.

Make sure to stay in touch, Thomas.

Will do.

Charlotte turned around and walked over to her assigned bed as Janson escorted the remaining people out. She stood in front of it, and a fluorescent light illuminated her, nearly blinding her.

"Hello." She turned to see what sounded like a man in one of the forest suits in front of her, a large needle in his hand, "Please lay down, we must start the procedure right away in order to be done today."

"Woah, slow your roll there." The girl said while taking a step back from the bed, her eyes going wide, "I'm not getting the operation, slim the needle."

The man tilted his head slightly, "I don't believe you have a choice in the matter, ma'am."

"I do have a choice." She snapped, "And I choose no. And do I look fifty to you? I'm not ma'am, asshole."

Char, we're at the last room. We all said no, Rat Man looks devious. How are you holding up?

"Please don't insult me, or I'm afraid I'll have to call security." The man informed, causing the girl to roll her eyes but keep her mouth shut. She turned around to glance at the bed, and suddenly she was being pushed onto it. A grunt escaped her lips as the large machine quickly came down, but she whipped her hands up, stopping it right at her head. She turned to the worker with a growl of anger, and he began to start pushing down again. She kicked out her foot, and it collided with his chest, forcing him to stumble back. She heaved the machine up and shimmied out of it, standing up while flicking a baby hair out of her face.
