since becoming pregnant, nesaemys had been coddled by her family.
"you are not to ride the dragon!"
her mother badgered her.
"my sweet, you must stop being so reckless!"
aemond insisted.
"you won't do anything for me so long as a babe is growing in your stomach!"
rhaenyra snarled when she offered to help with an affair on driftmark.
corlys watched her from afar.
"i'll have guards at her door."
aegon said nonchalantly,
causing aemond to grow rowdy.
"nonsense! i sleep with her, if anyone attempts to enter, i'll cut their head off."
aegon smirked cooly.
"if you say so, little brother."

nesaemys rotated between her time on dragonstone and her time in kings landing.
right now, she was standing on a cliff overlooking the rough waters crashing into the dark and stony sides of dragonstone.
she stared down pleasantly, cupping her hands to her chest.
silverwing snapped, chasing away nesaemys' warm thoughts.
"bloody dragons!"
the silver-haired mariner cursed, riskily placing his hand on the gray snout of the dragon sniffing him curiously.
nesaemys turned around to greet the velaryon, slightly shocked to see corlys' handsome features in such a lighted area.
he had tan skin and pale hair, his turquoise tunic shining out among his black breeches.
his eyes were a delightful mix between purple and blue, which caused nesaemys' insides to bubble.
his legs were muscular, his arms possibly more so, and his chest was, nesaemys assumed, as well.
"lord corlys,"
she greeted genially, giving him a affable smile.
he dipped his head in response, continuing to heedlessly pet silverwing.
the silence between the two was detestable.
"you're with child?"
he inquired, removing his hand from the dragon.
nesaemys acquiesced, clearly self-conscious.
she had never been around the sea snake for such a prolonged amount of time,
and given what her husband had done on driftmark during the time corlys was mourning his only daughter.
"how is vhagar? i've heard your brother cares about her quite a bit."
he asked spitefully, causing her more unease.
"vhagar is splendid, my lord. aemond is devoted to her."
he narrowed his eyes, pale brows arching.
the last words, nesaemys feared, made her heart stall.

"like laena?"

nesaemys frowned, staring into the crackling fire.
aemond watched from where he sat, hand bandaged from a recent skirmish.
"the strongs?"
he asked dubiously.
"no, the velaryons."
the frizzy haired boy scoffed, before sliding off of their shared bed and approaching.
"they don't look velaryon,"
he whispered, ensconcing her with a hug.
"i haven't forgotten what they did to you, my love."
she breathed, pulling him closer to her.
"i won't."
she swore, planting a chaste kiss on his temple.
when she turned back, aemond began to leer grimly.
