Geonhak POV

Geonhak wakes up with the sunrise. His claws are slowly getting smaller, his fur disappears and he is getting taller until he is human again. He tries to stand up but realises that the princes used him as a pillow for tonight. Also, someone seems to have put blankets on them. He carefully gets the princes off of him and tries to stand up but Seoho grabs his leg. "Noo don't kill me. I will do the paper work. I swear.", the angel screams. Geonhak tries to hold back a giggle and removes Seohos hands from his leg.
He goes to the dining room. The king and the queen are already eating their breakfast when he comes in.
"Good morning. You're up early.", king Domenico says. "G..good morning. Ehh... yeah... I... got woken up by the sunlight.", Geonhak stutters while he looks to the ground shyly and scratches his ear nervously.
"Come, sit down and eat something with us.", queen Sophie says.
Geonhak sits down on an empty chair and the butler takes his breakfast order.
While he waits for his food, he watches a bird come in through the window and sit down on Domenicos shoulder. "Oh, Lyra how are you?", the king greets the bird. The bird tweets a little bit. "I was ill but my sons healed me. How is the flight training going? Can one of them already fly?", the king asks the bird.
Geonhak observes the conversation for bit. He wonders if the king can really understand the bird. The queen seems to find this completely normal and just continues eating like things like this happen all the time.
The king seems to notice Geonhak confused face and clears things up: "Everyone in my family has magic abilities. Mine is to speak to animals. This is Lyra she normally visits me every morning."
Geonhak nods. Then his breakfast arrives.
Slowly the room fills up and everyone is eating. Domenico asks for silence and everyone shuts up. "My wizard told me yesterday that Seoho needs to get inside Dorus palace and we are also planning something to conquer the city back from the assassins guild. To discuss all of this my family and my sons friends... Dongjus friends meet in my study room in one and a half hours.", the king announces.
Geonhak and the others say goodbye to Dongmyeongs friends who need to help their parents with their work at home and get dressed.
Dongmyeong shows them the way to his fathers study room. The king, his wife, Mira and a general are already waiting for them. "There you are, please sit down.", the king says. They sit down around the big wooden table. On it are some maps of Doru and the surrounding area. "So, as you know, Seoho needs the last key to the secret door in Doru. To get it we need to get into the palace. We also want to conquer the city back from the assassins guild. So it would be ideal to combine both of these plans.", Donenico suggest. "One question.I know I am not allowed to know what is in the secret room but why does he need to go there?", the general asks. "It's a private matter and not of interest for you.", the king answers. "The quickest solution would be if Seoho helps us with a magic spell. We could probably get rid of the whole assassins guild before they even notice that we are attacking them.", the Mira states. "I am not allowed to use magic.", Seoho explains. "If it would help us that much and you would be saving a lot of people, wouldn't it be worth it to disobey your prohibition?", the general wonders. "No, it would have bigger consequences than you think." "But..." "No arguing please. I'm sure if Seoho was able to help he would." "One thing is sure. We will definitly need an army if we want to get to the palace.", Geonhak states. "General. Do you have an overview of the army of the assassins guild?", Sophie asks. "No, I sent out a spy but he didn't come back. But I think it's probably double of the size they came with to invade the city." "We met some people who came from Doru and fled from the city because they want every man to be in their army and we met someone from the assassins guild who was dumb enough to tell us that they want to attack Murym. So they are building a really big army.", Keonhee tells. "This is really bad. With our resources how many soldiers can we get if some of the villagers would join the army?", the king asks. "We could maybe get enough resources to equip 200 soldiers but that would also mean that every man who is physically able to join would have to join. I also can't guarantee that I can get enough materials", the general replies. "That is half the number of soldiers they had 14 years ago. I will ask the kings of the other bigger cities, the elves and dwarfs for help then. But it will also mean that it will take some time for them to come here."
"I could also provide some materials.", Hwanwoong offers. "How?", the general wonders. "I have my ways. What do you need and how much of it?" "Mainly a lot of iron. I will provide you with exact numbers later." "Okay, that should be easy."
"Will you also join us in the fight?", the king asks Geonhak and the others. "I can't fight. But I want to go with Seoho.", Keonhee says. "I will train with you if you want.", Geonhak offers. "Yes, that would be nice. Thank you." "I also can't fight.", Dongju states. "Me neither.", his brother says. "I don't think you should be coming with us.", their father says. "But we want to be with our friends.", Dongmyeong says. "We can protect ourselves with our shield and heal the wounded soldiers.", Dongju argues. "Yes, we could help. Please, dad.", his twin begs. "But it's really dangerous. You could get hurt and we don't want to loose one of you again.", their mother says. "Please!!", Dongmyeong begs again and both of them pout cutely. "No it's to dangerous. End of the discussion.", the father says. "That's so unfair! All of my friends go. Even Keonhee who can't use magic or fight. Why can't we go?", Dongju nags. "Yes, we are not little kids anymore. We can protect ourselves.", Dongmyeong chimes in. "No you are not going!!", the king shouts. The three stare at each other angrily for a few seconds then the king continues making plans. "It will probably take 4 months until everyone arrives here. Until then I want the 200 men to be equiped with everything needed and trained." "Yes your majesty.", the general replies. "Mira, can you send out a few people to tell the people that every man between eighteen and fourty five who is in good physical condition needs to join the army." "Yes of course." "We are over eighteen so I guess we have to join too.", Dongmyeong states. His father flashes him a stern glance. "I was just joking.", the older twin says with a fake smile."That is everything for today. You can go now.", the king says.
Everyone stands up and leaves. Geonhak sees the twins walk towards Dongmyeongs bedroom. They are whispering and Geonhak has a feeling that they are plotting something to come with them to Doru. "I want to check out the library. See you guys later.", Ravn says and leaves. "Hwanwoong and I want to go for a walk. Do you want to come with us?", Seoho asks. "I think I want to start training now since we need to start from scratch and it will take I while for me to learn it.", Keonhee explains. "Okay let's go.", Geonhak says. They ask around for somewhere to train and get send to an area behind the armory. There are some swords, shields, spears, daggers and bows rowed up on the side. Geonhak walks towards them. "I think we should find out what weapon you are best with first. Which one do you want to try first?", he asks Keonhee. Keonhee takes a shield and sword. "They're really heavy.", he says astonished. They go over to the training dummy. "Just hit it a little bit to get a feeling for sword.", Geonhak suggest. Keonhee does as he says. "Noo that's not how you hold a sword." Geonhak takes the sword and shows him how to hold it properly. Keonhee mimics his grip on the sword and hits the dummy again. "With more power, don't caress it." "But it's so heavy." After a few minutes Geonhak gives up the sword training and tells Keonhee to take another weapon. He takes a spear and wants to go to the dummy but accidently hits Geonhak between his legs with the flat side of it. "Oops sorry.", he apologizes, but can't help but giggle a little bit at Geonhaks pained expression. "I don't think that's the weapon for you.", the werwolf states. Keonhee puts the spear away and takes a bow. Keonhee stands a few meters away from the target. He spans the bow and aims for the middle. "You have to stand really still and...", Geonhak tries to explain but gets interrupted by Keonhee: "Psst..." Keonhee lets loose of the bowstring and the arrow flies through the air. It hits the target at the bullseye. "Yes, exactly in the middle. Did you see that?", Keonhee says happily. "Ehm.. maybe it was a coincidence. Try again." Keonhee shoots two other arrows and they hit exactly in the middle. "I think we found your weapon.", Geonhak states. Geonhak continues by showing him some tricks to defend himself from short-range attacks.
It is the late afternoon when they go back to the house of the royal family.
They eat with the others and go to bed early today. Geonhak jumps on his bed and gets tucked in by Seoho. "Goodnight puppy.", the angel says and ruffles through Geonhaks fur. The others say goodnight too and turn off the light. "You didn't even tell us how your training went Keonhee.", Hwanwoong says. "It was great we realised that I'm the best with the bow and I hit the bullseye three times." "Wow!" Geonhak growls to quiet them down. "Goodnight!", Hwanwoong whispers. Then it becomes really quiet and Geonhak can finally fall asleep.
