Chapter Twenty Eight: To Doru

Keonhee POV

It is still dark outside when Keonhee wakes up because he feels something wet on his face. When he opens his eyes he sees Geonhak standing on his bed and licking his face. "Eww Geonhak stop it!", Keonhee screams and wakes up Seoho and Ravn with it. The werewolf smiles and lays down on his back in anticipation of some belly rubs. "Forget it! I won't reward you for leaving your saliva all over my face." "Has Dongju slept in his brothers room tonight?", Ravn asks and points to the princes bed. "I don't know. Probably. The last time I saw the twins was when they disappeared in Dongmyeongs room.", Seoho answers.
Geonhak jumps off the bed and walks over to Hwanwoong. He jumps on the half elfs bed and begins licking his face. "Are..... you.... pouring... water.. over.. me.. again.., Ravn?", Hwanwoong asks sleepy.

After everyone is fully awake and dressed, they eat their breakfast. "I'm so tired.", Seoho moans. "Everyone is tired. It's about five o'clock in the morning. I just find it weird that the twins aren't awake yet.", Hwanwoong states. "Why should they? They aren't coming with us.", Keonhee says.
After breakfast they double check if they have packed everything, put on their capes and then go to the dining room to see if the twins are there. They are not also greeted by an empty dining table but also the first rays of sunshine. Geonhak turns back into his human form and gets slapped by Keonhee. "That was for licking my face. Don't ever do that again.", he says. Geonhak laughs out loud. "Your face and scream were really funny though. You sounded like a girl.", Geonhak says. "I find it a little bit weird that they're not up yet. Usually Dongju is the first to wake up.", Ravn interrupts their bickering. "We should look for them in Dongmyeongs room.", Hwanwoong suggests.
They walk back to corridor and quietly open the door to Dongmyeongs room. Nobody is there. "Huh? They are not here? Where are they then?", Keonhee wonders. "Maybe one of the guards has seen them.", Ravn says. They walk over to guards at the front door. "Excuse me, have you seen the princes?", Keonhee asks one of them. "Today? No sorry.", the guard replies. "Where could they be then.", Geonhak says. "Are you ready to go?", the king suddenly asks from behind them. Keonhee screams in surprise. "We are but we wanted to say goodbye to the twins.", Ravn replies. "Are they not in their room?", the king asks. They shake their heads. "They probably try to hide between the soldiers of the other armies. But they won't get away with that.", the king states.
They go outside and join the rest of the army. The king discusses shortly with the other kings and generals then he speaks to the army: "We will wait a few more minutes in case some people are late."

After some time they start walking. Keonhee and the others are directly behind the king and the general. "We didn't get to say goodbye to the Dongdong twins.", Hwanwoong says and pouts sadly. "Something tells me that they snuck out yesterday and are on their way to Doru.", Seoho says. "Alone?", Geonhak asks sceptic. "I don't think they found someone outside of the army to accompany them.", Seoho says. "That's really dangerous. I hope they are okay.", Ravn says.
The army walks the whole day until the sun is almost gone. Suddenly a foul smell hits Keonhees nose. "What is that?", Keonhee asks. "A dead zebra.", the general replies and points at a dead body a few meters away from them. The general takes a closer look at it. "Lions?", the king asks him. "No, vampires but what's weird is that they also ate the meat. Over there are traces of a fire so they must have cooked it.", the general states. "Yesterday some vampires asked if they could help us. They already left last night. Maybe it's theirs.", the king says. "But why would they cook a meal?", the general asks. "I don't know. Let's just get a few steps away from the dead animal and open up a camp for the night.", the king says.

Keonhee and the others sit down around a fire next to Dongmyeongs friends and their new eight friends from Doru. They enjoy their dinner together then they go to sleep. Keonhee has a hard time falling asleep because he is very worried about twins and the snoring, whispering and coughing from the soldiers around them doesn't help either.

Dongmyeong POV
(earlier that day)

Dongmyeong and Dongju get woken up by the vampires just before the sunrise. They climb off of the vampire twins. The vampires pull out their giant umbrellas and hold them above their heads. "I'm guessing you want to eat your breakfast now?", Gina asks. "Yes, I'm starving.", Dongju says. "Then we will take a short break." They sit down and the royal twins eat while the vampires watch them. "Can you maybe not watch us like that? It gives me the feeling like we are becoming the breakfast.", Dongmyeong says. The vampires laugh. Hador and Hermes face each other and start talking to each other while Gina starts a conversation with Dongmyeong and Dongju. "Why didn't you tell me that you're the lost prince and that you have a twin that looks like a snack?" "I didn't know who really I am back then. I was a child when I got lost so I couldn't remember it well. And my brother... eh..." "I'm not very tasty. So it wouldn't be worth drinking my blood.", Dongmyeong states. Gina licks her lips sexily but then cringes and gets embarrassed about herself. "I actually don't want to drink your blood. What I meant was that you are very good looking.", Gina explains. "Thank you.", Dongmyeong says and blushes. "Are you always flirting with everyone?", Dongju asks. "Immortality is lonely.", Gina says and pouts sadly.
They finish their breakfast and continue walking. The vampires move very slowly in the daylight and they have to pause several times. It's noon when Dongmyeong can hear Dongjus stomach grumble next to him. "I'm hungry.", the younger twin nags. "Me too.", Hador says which makes Dongmyeong panic slightly. "Over there are some zebras.", Hermes says. "Great. Looks like all of us will get their lunch.", Gina says and looks very excited. "I won't eat a zebra.", Dongju protests. "That's okay. I'm sure we can find some bugs in the trees or bushes for you.", Gina says and giggles. "We will take the zebra.", Dongmyeong states. Ginas eyes turn red. She looks at the zebras and stretches out her arm towards them. A purple light beam comes out of her hand winds around the zebras body. The vampire twins do same thing and slowly they pull the zebra closer. It must cost a lot of their energy because the skin around their eyes begin to crack and they become even paler than they already are.
The zebra is now directly in front of them. Gina withdraws her arm and bites into the zebra. The vampire twins do the same. The zebra screams loudly. After a few minutes the vampires have finished their meal, leaving the royal twins traumatized about what they just witnessed. The cracks around the vampires eyes have disappeared and their eye colour turns normal again. They wipe away the blood around their mouth with a cloth from their pocket. Hermes takes out a knife and turns around to the twins. "How hungry are you two?", he asks. "Very hungry.", Dongju replies. Hermes takes his knife and starts cutting the zebra open but before the twins can see what exactly happen Gina pulls them a few steps away from the dead body. "You two look a little bit pale. Is everything okay?", she asks. The twins nod. "Good.", Gina says and ruffles through their hair, "We need wood for a fire. How about you get some branches from the trees over there?", she says. The twins do as they are told. When they are back Hermes is waiting for them with two big pieces of meat. "I thought it would be more bloody but it's actually not.", Dongju states while taking a close look at the meat. "How should it be bloody when they just sucked out all of the blood out of the animal, idiot.", Dongmyeong says and laughs at his brother. The younger twin awkwardly scratches the back of his head. "Do you have a pan for the meat or something like that?", Gina asks. "Yes.", Dongju says and pulls out a small pan from his backpack. "Huh? We do? Where did you get it?", Dongmyeong asks confused. "I stole it from the kitchen.", Dongju replies and giggles.
They eat quickly, put out the fire and start walking again. Slowly the rainforest starts to appear in the distance.
When it starts to get dark the vampires put away their umbrellas. The royal twins climb on the back of the vampire twins again where they fall asleep quickly this time.
