I'm joining them on tomorrow's mission, they just don't know that they'll need someone small yet.
"Strike!" The man screams. All sixty of us punched, blocked, and then kicked the bag. This was our first combo of beginner training. We had spent the first month getting in shape and learning basic moves, I still didn't punch with my thumb outside of my fist.
"T!" Nat shouted at me. I picked up my water bottle and headed towards the door. She held it like I was a student being called out of class, which I was, but that was beside the point.
When we get upstairs, the team is standing around the hologram table. The layout of the hydra base is displayed.
"Hey kid, so you need to enter this vent and crawl to the server room and hack the doors and gather any other information on a hard drive," Steve told me.
"I know. I knew last week." I smirked.
"And you didn't think to tell us? Before we spent two days trying to figure this out?"
"Can't interfere." I held my hands up innocently. They shook their heads but didn't say anything else about it. They went over everything I had to do.
The next day we set out, I was the only one that didn't have a uniform. Instead I wore a black long sleeve and black cargo pants. A utility belt hung around my waist and I had my grey winter coat on because of the snow.
As soon as we entered the perimeter the shooting begins. Steve protected me on his motorcycle as he threw his shield and ran over the soldiers.
"Shit!" Tony groaned into the coms.
"Language." Steve rolled his eyes, "Jarvis what's the view from upstairs?"
"The central building is protected by some type of force field. Strucker's base is more advanced than any hydra base we've ever taken," Jarvis reported.
"Loki's scepter must be here, no other source could power a field that large." Commented Thor.
"Yeah... and it seems we've lost the element of surprise," said Clint.
"Wait a second, no one else is going to deal with the fact that Steve just said 'language'?" Tony spoke through coms.
"I know." Steve grabbed me around the waist and soon the bike flew over out heads and into the enemy's car. We landed on our feet and Steve released me. "it just slipped out." He sighed.
A second later, I'm punched in the gut and knocked to the ground. My ribs throb when I stand up."We have an enhanced in the field."
I heard Clint cry out in the distance. I got to my feet as quickly as possible and ran to him. Nat was already there, searching for bandages to put on the burns in his abdomen. I ducked just in time to dodge a missile and sat next to Nat.
"Here," I said, moving her hands out of the way. I put my hands against the burns, causing him to groan from the pain. I reached into the fourth dimension and pulled a version of Clint that hadn't gotten hit. I pulled slightly until the healthy abdomen was lined up on the burns, temporarily healing them. Missiles exploded near us as we helped Clint.
"Can somebody deal with that bunker?" Nat said angrily. At her request, hulk slammed into it, destroying everything. It was a little quieter. "Thank you."
There were explosions closer to the main building before Tony's voice came over the coms, "The entry points secure, I'm coming to get the girl."
"Clint's hurt pretty bad, we need evac." Natasha looked worriedly at her best friend.
"It'll hold for a few hours, til we can get him home," I told her before Tony scooped me up.
We flew to a small vent, about six feet above the street. The energy shield was already down so all I had to do was open the vault and gather the information from the servers. I had to be silent as the main hall was right below this shaft. I took my own set of glasses out and activated them. I could see the dozens of heat signatures below me as I crawled. I eased myself out, onto a wooden table and stepped onto the floor.
"I'm in, the vault is on the bottom floor," I reported as I searched through the documents.
"Hey!" A man shouted behind me. I swung around a attached a tranquilizer to his chest. He shook to the ground from the electricity. I wasn't quite ready to fight yet.
I clicked the door to the hallway shut and tipped a chair under the handle. I stuck Tony's thumb drive into the server and ordered Jarvis to extract everything and open the vault.
"Alright, I've finished, heading to the extraction point now." I began climbing through the vent again. I had to be quick, soon they'd know someone was in the server room and opened the vault. I heard the slam against the door behind me, and then shouts.
Someone shouted in a different language before all of the heat signatures below me looked up. I knew they knew I was here but couldn't react in time.
I screamed in pain when a bullet pierced my skin and lodged itself above my hip. I managed to turn on my side, causing the others to miss.
"Talia? I heard shots, are you okay?" Tony asked, worriedly.
"I'm good," I said, looking down at my wound that's already soaked my shirt in blood. I held it as I army crawled the rest of the way with one hand. I bit my lip to prevent myself from crying out in pain. My legs got heavier as I moved, until I could only pull with one arm. "All good..." I nearly reached the end before the snowy street disappeared.
I awoke and screamed in agony, Natasha had climbed into the entrance of the vent and was pulling me out by my arms. "You're going to be okay T," she reassured me, her face distraught. I screamed again as she pulled me to the edge and my torso hung out for a moment. The team helped pull me the rest of the way and gently set me on the cold street.
"She's been shot." Jarvis did a scan of my body, "a single bullet is perforating her Large Intestine, if not treated it will be fatal."
I struggled to breathe through the pain, I felt the urge to go to sleep. I fought it as long as possible. Nats worried expression faded until there was nothing but the void.
