There will be friends in your life that will come and go
They have finished their part in your book of life
They would become a memory as you reflect back on the past
The ones that stay with you till the end are the ones you want to keep
They stood by your side when you were at your worst
They made you laugh when you didn't think it was possible
They filled in the hole that was once empty
And everyday they always fulfilled those without a doubt
But as warm breezes turn into teeth chattering chills you start to feel different towards them
The people that have always been by your side suddenly feel distant
They don't care like they used to
They don't act like the people you once knew
They don't pay attention when something is wrong
The more they push you away you start to feel alone
You stop interacting with people
You ignore text messages and calls
You stay home and hope Monday never returns
As days pass the thoughts start to bang louder and louder
Trying to break the wall separating your emotions and morals
The never ending war inside your head
Will leave you defeated
You can't tell your friends they will know you lied saying you are okay
You can't tell your family they said you should be alright
You can't do anything but sit still and look "happy"
Your friends have their own wars to deal with
You know this because you sit still and listen
You hear all the things going in their lives that by the time they ask you
They don't seem to care
So you lie and say
I am alright
But you hope that maybe if you say it enough times
You might even believe it
