This is where it will start to get gritty. Hope some take notes.
Enjoy.

After the pie for electricity pact was over with, it did not remain easy. That was just a lucky break. With literature assignments and Algebra II test soon that was just an icing on the cake. It was just passing lunchtime and you already have homework, Zeo's book reports, and then the all mighty Devil work ahead. This was pretty much Monday on steroids that no amount of espresso could soothe.
You get into the club room and just try to evaluate everything. You have to call Rias for a check in, see about your assignments, and Akeno just gave you a list of stuff going on. Pact list was light. That gamer guy, a business man Akeno helped, and two new ones that Koneko and Kiba could handle. Perfect. But that still didn't make everything disappear. Still more than plenty of things to do. On a daily basis this was not going to change until the weekend. Talk about suckish.
You phoned Rias to see how she's doing. Someone else picked up. < Hello? >
< Grayfia? That you? >
< Indeed so. Rias is taking a nap and thought it would be best for her to rest. >
< Good call. I think she felt a few kicks. Sleep was kinda rough. It wasn't peaceful all the way through. Least hasn't been sick lately. I just got in the club room and I will be handing out pacts shortly before hitting the books. I have a lot going for me. >
< Alright. Dinner will be at 7 PM. >
< Thank you. >
< Be well. I'm going to do laundry. Bye for now. > Click.
"And I get to do the fun stuff. Oh yay." You try not to have this get the best of you. But with every corner a book or a piece of paper. It was tricky. No matter what you had on your plate it would never be finished. You expected this. Though much more than you were in for. By quite a larger amount.
The hours went by and the sun was on its way down. You clicked on the nightlight on the desk to continue working at a decent pace. This was going okay. Literature was done and back to the first book and taking notes on it. Still going through the first book. Hopefully in two or three days the first report can be finished.
Akeno came back first to see your face in the book. She felt really bad about it. Rias, being the boss, school, work, and other assignments. In such a short window of time. "Wow. Still at it?" She asked.
"Nothing I can do until it's over. My wife is pregnant and everything needs to be attended to. What else is there to say?"
"Well have you looked at the time?" Akeno sat on the desk and was hinting something.
"You're the only one here. I was waiting on everyone else."
"It's 7:15."
"Shit!" You teleport. You are fashionably late already. You can pick up where you were afterwards. For now seeing everyone and putting some food in your system is priority one and then some. Also on your end a miscommunication assuming that they would come back to the club room. Two bad ones. Try explaining that one. (Men you will lose. Don't bother.)
You teleport at your seat and Rias is highly annoyed. "Mhm." She just looked at you waiting to rebuttal an answer that was never going to be good enough. Men can't win. Particularly in these circumstances. It's just how it is.
"Thought everyone would come back to the room and I was wrong. Sorry. That's all I can say."
"You don't have any remorse mister man?"
"I do. But why spill your guts out at dinner time when you're just going to get a 'kay or something in regards of it not being good enough. Take my medicine with food in my mouth." You poke your fork in and take a bite. "Delicious to say the least. Arigato."
"He makes a fair point." Issei agreed with you.
"Thank you, but its potentially your funeral too there Helmet." You chuckle at Issei. No pan in sight which is pretty good. A change of pace.
"Noted."
"Least I don't have to sleep with one eye open. I'm not the one dealing with who. It's tasks all lined up. That's what matters here."
You eat in piece and then you kiss Rias goodbye because you need to head back to the books. Getting your stuff together from the club room and transferring to the office. Just turn on a different set of lights to read and take more notes. It was daunting and you had to keep moving forward. Then a test to study for. Oh what fun.
As time went on you heard a knock on the door as you were nearly 80% through the first book. "Come in." You called.
"Hubby?" Rias cracked the door.
"Hey Rias. How have you been?"
"Lonely. It's almost 10 o'clock. You've been at it all day." She complained.
"Alright." You close the book. "Early I'll study some formulas for my test and hopefully that works. Mind if I squeeze in a shower?"
"Not at all. I just want you to come to bed and get some rest."
"Got it. I'll be quick. Some hot water will wash away the work stench." You kiss her and head to the bath. You should have a robe in there and all you have to do is scrub.
Rias was worried. Oh Love. She shook her head. Work smell can always go away. But smoke signals don't wash off. They get noticed or avoided. It's day two and you are already doing too much. I hope you aren't doing this only for me. Because this isn't the way to live your life. I know you work hard but I need you. Alive and well. Work is killing you. Scary enough you don't see the signs anymore.

Does Rias have a point? Is it okay to rebuttal? Is it all worth it? Then what's next?
