It was the next morning. Poppy gets up from her bed, rubbing her eyes. She then slips down her large bed and steps in a bucket of water. She jumps out making in with making a scared cat noise. She lands on her four legs and breathes heavily.

Poppy: "Who put that there?"

Poppy and then hear giggling from the distance. She gets up on her two legs. She knew exactly that laugh belongs too. By the exit of the room, a figure of a person can be seen, but he quickly leaves as he noticed Poppy looking at him. Poppy then tries to ignore it. She then exits the room to head over to the lunch area to get some morning milk. Once she reached there it was empty. Everyone had already finished their meals and went outside to play. Poppy sees a bottle of milk sitting on the table.

Poppy: "Why, hello there. And no one owns you? Perfect."

With a grin on her face, she goes over to the table and reaches for the milk. Once she has it in her paws, she takes one sip and immediately spits it back out.

Poppy: "AH! (cough) (cough) What in the world. It's so spoiled. Why wasn't this thrown away?"

The sound of giggling is heard again, but Poppy couldn't see anyone. She then drops the milk and leaves the lunch area to go over to the backyard. Once she opened the door to it a bucket of water drops on her head. Poppy becomes soaked with water. The other children see this and started to laugh at her. Poppy looks around at all the children and sees Tomo standing in the crowd with a devilish look. Poppy knew from that, he's responsibility for this. She gives him an angry look and rushes away to the front of the orphanage on the outside. She looks around. She looked at all the horses pulling the wagons. Shops selling fruits and vegetables. She then hears a voice call out to her and that makes her come back inside. Once she did, she saw Imelda, who looked very concerned.

Imelda: "Poppy, what were you doing outside there. And why are you wet?"

Poppy: "Tomo ranked me again."

Imelda: "I'll go have a talk with him later, but you know you're not supposed to be outside by yourself like that. Someone could have taken you, or worst."

Poppy: "I understand. Sorry, Imelda."

Imelda then kneels to Poppy's level and uses her finger to raise her chin up. She gives Poppy a smile of reassuring.

Imelda: "You remind me of a very special someone everything I look at you."

Poppy: "Who Imelda?"

Imelda: "Nevermind. Go get yourself dried up."

Poppy: "Okay."

Imelda then leaves. Poppy becomes skeptical of who Imelda was referring to. But later on, she expels it from her mind. She got herself all dried up. After that, she goes on her bed and reaches under her pillow to retrieve her book that she likes to write in. There was a yellow feather she used as a bookmark. Poppy looks deeply into the yellow feather. It was left laying on top of her when she was a newborn kitten. That's when she was first given to the orphange. At least according to Imelda.

Poppy: "My parents must have felt this for me. But why would they give me up? Did something happen?"

After looking at the feather, Poppy started to hear a weird voice of what sounds like a Spanish guy.

Voice: "Shh, it's alright, Pequeño. Everything will be alright, I promise you that."

Poppy immediately jumps up a little and looks around the room to see if anyone was there. But no one was around. She realized that she dozed off a bit. She looks down and noticed her book was gone. All that was left was her yellow feather. Poppy jumps off the bed in a panic.

Poppy: "I HAVE TO FIND THAT BOOK!!!"

Poppy looks around the room, under the beds, and by the windows for the book, but it wasn't anywhere. She then runs out of the room and runs all around the orphanage looking for it. She then looks out a window and sees in the backyard Tomo was standing on a rock reading a book to all the children. Poppy looked closely and saw that the book had a pink cover. She immediately was surprised when she realized that it was her book and dashes for the door. Once she makes it outside, the other children noticed her and gave her snide looks.

Tomo: "Well, well, well, look who's here."

Poppy: "Tomo, what are you doing with my book?"

Tomo: "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm reading it to everyone here. It's very interesting how you took the time to write all these things about us."

The same girl Poppy spelled milk on intervenes.

Girl: "How dare you call me a drama queen!?"

Poppy: "I didn't mean too. It was just how I felt at the time."

Hip: "Oh yeah? Just like how you felt when you wrote that mean and Tim are nothing, but puppies who follow Tomo?"

Poppy: "Oh come on, everyone knows that's true. That's all you guys do, is following him."

Tim: "Well, at least we don't talk to ourselves."

Poppy: "I wasn't talking to myself, I was just thinking out loud. Ever heard of it?"

Tomo: "Look, she even wrote stuff about things that have happened in the past too. Wait, what's this part? (reading) One day, when I'm all grown up, I'll come to find you, mom, and dad. One day, for sure."

Tim: "That's exactly what she was talking to herself about."

Tomo: "She actually thinks she'll find her parents one day. (to Poppy) You're very stupid, aren't you? Why do you think your parents gave you up in the first place?"

Poppy: "What do you mean?"

Tomo: "Dream on, kid! You'll never find your parents. In fact, they wouldn't want you to find them because they probably didn't want you in the first place."

Poppy: "That's not true..."

Tomo: "Oh yes it is. You're nothing, but I mistake. They abandoned you, furball. You're nothing to them. You're nothing to anyone here."

Tears start to form in Poppy's eyes, but she was filled with rage.

Poppy: "THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!"

Tomo: "How would you even know. You couldn't even remember even if you tried. You're worthless. Am I right, people?"

Girl: "You're right, Tomo."

All the other children started to agree with Tomo. Poppy who was filled with a lot of rage lost it. She then started to charge an attack on Tomo jumping in his face and scratching him. Tomo falls back and screams in pain and fear. All the other children started to scream too. Poppy then started to bite as she scratched. All the screaming quickly cause Imelda the come outside and see what's going on. She runs over to Poppy and had to forcefully pull her off of Tomo. Poppy quickly became calm and Imelda put her down. She then goes over to Tomo's aid, who was crying and was badly hurt.

Tim: "Poppy attacked him for no reason."

Hip: "Yes, she's a monster."

Poppy realized what she had done, but quickly tries to defend herself.

Poppy: "No, I didn't mean too. I...he...

Hip: "Now she's trying to make up lies."

Poppy: "No I'm not! I-

Imelda: "That's enough, Poppy! I've heard enough out of you."

Poppy jumps back as this was the first time Imelda has ever raised her voice at her. She looks around at all the children and sees the fear in their eyes. She looks down at her hands and her claws. As tears formed in her eyes again, she runs away. Imelda looks to where Poppy is running with worry in her eyes. Poppy makes her way at the front of the orphanage where she exits the front door and tries to run as far away as she can. Imelda makes it to the door and sees Poppy running in the distance.

Imelda: "Poppy! Come one, niño! ...please...come back..."

Poppy still keeps on running not looking back. She ran until the orphanage was out of sight. She passes buildings along her way through San Ricardo.
