Making Mischief

Poppy wakes up with an apple core sitting on top of her lap. She rubs her eyes and then starts to crawl her way over to Misty's tent to see if she's awake. Once she looks in there, Misty wasn't there. Poppy peeks her head out and looks around the area to see where she might have gone. She then starts to run around to try and find her.

Poppy: "Misty? Misty, where are you? MISTY!"

Poppy makes her way into a populated street where the markets were. She then sees the little black kitten stealing from stores again, stuffing them in her bag. Poppy tries to run up to her and try and stop her but instead gets forcefully picked up by the back of the neck by the same angry store owner.

Angry Store Owner: "GOT YA! You thought you could get away?!"

Poppy: "Put me down! Let go of me!"

Angry Store Owner: "Hehe! Where's your thriving friend at?"

From the distance, Misty can hear Poppy's voice yelling. She turns around to see her struggling with the guy. Misty's first instinct was to go off and leave her, but then she stops herself and looks at Poppy for a brief moment, she thinks for a second until she finally decides to rush over to the angry store owner to save Poppy. Misty grabs hold of the man's leg. The store owner notices that.

Angry Store Owner: "Hey! Let go!"

Misty uses her claws and then swats at the man's leg causing him to scream out in pain. It also causes him to let go of Poppy. Misty then lets go of the store owner's leg, grabs Poppy by her hand and runs off with her. After hopping on one foot for a few minutes and the angry store owner finally sees the two kittens getting away and now he starts to run after them.

Angry Store Owner: "HEY! GET BACK HERE YOU THEIVES!!!"

As the two kitties ran, they came across a horse attached to a wagon full of milk. Poppy then gets an idea.

Poppy: "Misty, hope into that wagon."

Misty: "Now is not the time to be thinking about milk and-

Poppy: " Just trust me, I know what I'm doing."

Misty looks at Poppy with a suspicious look, but sees the angry store owner gaining on them, so she does what says. Poppy climbs her way on the horse.

Poppy: "Alright horsey, gitty-yup."

The horse doesn't move.

Poppy: "Come on! Please move!"

Misty: "Umm, Poppy? He's almost here. I hope you know what you're doing."

Poppy then thinks her a second and gets an idea. She whips her claws out and then stamps the horse's rump. It causes the horse to lift it's front legs up and then move before the angry store owner got to them. The horse runs crazy all around San Ricardo. Poppy tried to control the horse dodging everyone and everything in its path.

Misty: "Uhh, Poppy?! Do you know how to drive this thing?!"

Poppy: "No! But it's fun to try!"

Everyone was startled from the horse sudden rampage. There was another wagon in the path.

Misty: "Wacht out, Poppy!"

Poppy: "There's no way around it. We'll have to go over it."

Misty: "How do you expect we do that?"

Poppy then pulls the rains down as hard as she can and it causes the horse to do a great big jump over the wagon still attached to its wagon. It then landed hard, but safely and continued to run.

Misty: "Woah! How did you do that?"

Poppy: "I don't know. I just...I don't know."

Misty: "LOOK OUT!!!"

Poppy wasn't paying attention and ends up crashing into someone's house. After that, the kittens had to ditch the horse and they started to run away before the homeowner came out and saw them. They run into a dark ally way out of breath.

Poppy: (pant pant) "Wasn't that amazing?"

Misty: (pant) Amazing? (pant) We could have been killed in that."

Poppy: "But we got away and made our escape, didn't we?"

Misty: "We would have had to if you hadn't gone ahead and followed me."

Poppy: "You were stealing again. I had to stop you. And if you hadn't done it from the beginning, that angry store guy wouldn't have wanted us in the first place."

Misty: "It's not my fault. I do this to survive. We don't have any money. I can't just starve."

Poppy: "Why can't you get your mama to buy it for you?"

Misty looks down with an angry face. Poppy looks at her and realizes something.

Poppy: "Wait, you have no mama?"

Misty: "I too recently ran away from an orphan orphanage from another town. A hidden town that is. I had a passion for stealing. I would steal things from the other orphans and then the adults. I was quick and cunning. There was this one woman who was a white cat who was also the one that brought me in the orphanage because my parents gave me up when I was only a newborn kitty. She was very nice to me and cared for me like a mother. I didn't want her to know of my stealing ways, so I kept them from her. One day, she found all the things that I have taken from in my room. I was a bit too sloppy with hiding them. I never saw her so disappointed in me before. I felt ashamed, so I ran away not wanting to look her in the eye for what I have done. I ran out of town altogether and found San Ricardo. I then made a home for myself here and only used stealing as a way to survive."

Poppy: "You had a caretaker like I did. Someone who was like a mother to you like Imelda was to me."

Misty: "Who?"

Poppy: "That was the name of my caretaker I had before I ran away. She was like a mother to me, like yours was to you."

Misty: "Seems like we're not so different after all."

Poppy: "Does that mean we can be friends?"

Misty: "Absolutely not!"

Poppy: 'Oh come on, please?!"

Misty: "No, Poppy."

The two kittens then head back to the tent on their way...

Poppy: "How about acquaintances?"

Misty: "Nope."

Poppy: "Colleagues?"

Misty: "No."

Poppy: "Sisters?"

Misty: "Ha! As if."

They finally arrived at the empty street where Misty's tent lay.

Poppy: "Partners?"

Misty: "Hmm, yeah. Yeah, that's fine. But that doesn't mean we're friends though. Got it?"

Poppy: "Got it, (teases) Partner."

Misty rolls her eyes. Suddenly...

Misty: (whispers) "Poppy, wait."

Poppy: "Huh? What for?"

Misty: (whispers) "Get behind me."

Poppy: "Why?"

Misty: (whispers) "Just do it."

Poppy gets behind Misty. Misty looks over the corner to see two guards searching her tent.
